I usually burn cds but i spent my money and bought this one. Young Jeezy's album has some prety tight beats produced by Mannie Fresh, Jazze Pha, and Shawty Red- and cool guest apperances by Trick Daddy(on 'Last of A Dying Breed'), Lil Scrappy(on 'Bang'), and T.I.(also on 'Bang'). Everybody loves Jeezy's style- but if u dont, itll problly grow on you, pick it up.
Jeezy doesn't give you sick metaphors and witty punchlines, nor does he apologize for not doing so (Jeezy proudly asserts that he is not a rapper). Ironically, what he does have is also what many of his lyrically-superior peers lack: tons of charisma and a great ear for beats, which make for an entertaining, 70-plus minutes of thug motivation. Highlights include Thug Motivation, Standing Ovation, Go Crazy, My Hood, Trap Star, Bang (though T.I. lyrically melts The Snowman on this one), Soul Survivor and Trap Or Die. Although you have more than likely heard every aspect of hustling covered better, you can't deny Jeezy's energy and the rawness of the production on this album. Peace up for the "Trapper Of The Year".
I mean seriously Jeezy is a borderline retard, how can someone with such an obvious lack of talent shift millions of albums. It seems all you need in the rap game these days is to either have been shot, or have sold coke and with the right promotion you can become a millionaire. I have heard enough of Jeezy to know that he is s**t, he raps slower than most people speak, his songs all revolve around the fact that he used to sling caine and his rhymes are weak as hell. I'm only 22 but already I sound like an old man, I long for a return to the early to mid nineties, when talent and subject matter actually mattered. A catchy hook by an R&B singer and a club beat combined with earlier said reputation is enough to ensure sales now, a damn shame.
I'll leave you with the words of Jeezy himself, on Sky's The Limit watch how this genius rhymes opportunist with opportunist, and John Madden with John Madden, all in the space of a few bars. Also note the jeah's at the end of nearly every sentence, something MC Eiht was doing about 15 years ago.
I see opportunity, I'm an opportunist
Nigga ya heard what I said, I'm an opportunist (jeah)
Off the hard white and the cream (cream)
All these free agents, ya better build ya team (that's right)
I come and take the game like John Madden (jeah)
Cause I played in the game like John Madden (ay)
Amazing!
Last January, Jeezy dropped a mixtape called Trap Or Die that mixtape by itself damn near sold a million copies. So if you're familiar wit Jeezy should've known that he was goin to kill it. The bootleg damn near went gold off burnin. This is probably the best produced album I've ever heard. The hooks are straight gangsta and u know his lyrics is insane. I don't expect New Yorkers to cop this because they don't understand the slang. But the south is goin to definetly support him. So cop It! Ya Feel Me. Its Beezly Folk! Lets Get It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Young Jeezy sucks plain and simple. The guy has an deep, rooted, voice something like Busta Rhymes which sound horrible when you listen to the guy rap.He sound's like he's doing karoake(may have spelled wrong)or something, but yet the radio plays that same song everyday with him and Akon-"Soul Survivor"( which is complete trash anyway) every single day like it's some big hit or something.Anyway though Young Jeezy sucks, and he should try to find another marketable career becuase his rap sucks!
Oh yeah and for all ya'll haters out there I can really care less if ya'll like my review or not.If you dont like it then dont read it becuase Im gonna speak my mind whether anyone like's it or not plain and simple no b.s!
