This is a compilation album of songs from the four albums Waylon Jennings recorded for MCA Records in the late 80s. One criticism I have to make is that at 31 minutes, it's relatively short. They easily could have, and should have, fit a couple more songs on here. Having said that, the songs that they did include are very good. I'd like to mention a few of my favorites. Waylon uses tightrope walking as a metaphor for recovering from his addictions in "Working Without a Net". "Will The Wolf Survive" is a terrific cover version of a Los Lobos song. The chilling "Rose in Paradise" is a story song about obsessive love. "If Ole Hank Could Only See Us Now" is a humorous look at the differences between the country music industry of Hank Williams' day, and the country music industry of today. On "Trouble Man", Waylon proves a country boy can sing the blues. I believe this CD is out of print now, but if you can find a used copy, it's worth picking it up.
You can get all four of the Waylon Jennings MCA albums called "complete MCA recordings" for around the same price. I gave this 5 stars just because it is Waylon Jennings, and he was one of the best.....if not the best.
As Usual When There`s An Album By Waylon, I`ll Bay It. Even If It Always Has A Lot Of Old Songs On It. But Still.. Waylon Rules....
