- Don't skip by this one

The title of this CD might make some people skip it, thinking that it is probably a "greatest hits" or other compilation CD. Another flaw is the way Amazon has the songs listed, with Waylon's name and those "&" signs there, you might think that this is a bunch of duets.

Actually, this is one of Waylon's early albums, his fifth RCA album, first issued in 1967 (not long after "Love of the Common People"). There are no duets, it is all Waylon. He co-wrote two of the songs, "Down Came the World" and "John's Back in Town", which may be about Johnny Cash, who was Waylon's roommate during those early years. Cash wrote one song on the album, "You Beat All I Ever Saw".

This isn't Waylon's best album ever, but it's very good and serious fans will want it in their collections. Don't let the title or the way the songs are listed fool you.

- The One And Only Waylon Jennings

When I purchased this c.d I had never heard of any of the songs. After I listened to it, I can honestly say it is so awesome. It's Waylon like I had never heard him before. He's smooth, clean and clear. Before his "Outlaw" days for sure. There are a few songs that don't hardly sound like him, it's a very young Waylon, but a very good Waylon. I highly recommend this c.d. to any Waylon Jennings fan. Words can't describe this album enough. A very strong buy, and worth every dime.

- A King In His Own Right

When you listen to the voice of Waylon Jennings in my opinion the best country singer ever with his unique style.

He has a better voice range than all others by far and the instrumental backing is awesome.

For those who like Modern Country Waylon Jennings is a must buy but beware someone out there is releasing cd`s and video`s

with the same popular compilation but with different covers, what a stupid move, if people by a Waylon album they are expecting different songs on it, so be ware look at the song list of each release cd or video so you wont be disappointed, and the marketing people should stop trying to be clever, they are ruining his reputation.
