- Three Dog Night "It Ain't Easy"

"TDN's" 4th album is a very true example of the bands sound and variety.

Finally finding it again and hearing it after 35+ years, this album definitely had the trademark late 60's early 70's instrumentation & did remind me of the sounds of other bands such as Bloodrock, Iron Butterfly and many of the other psychedelic bands of that era. The songs are all different and there were some of the greatest songwriters and musicians backing them up on this album which gave it an edge. Vocals and harmonies were awesome and true to form. The guitar work is strong but under-rated by typical guitar players, but after this amount of time still stands the test of years. The only problems with this album is: the mixing is weak, distorted at times and the transitions between parts are not as polished as they could have been but, considering the fact the band had just shelled out 3 albums in the previous year and the demands of touring it is a great collectors album for any "TDN" fan. It really brought back sweet memories of the late 60's early 70's. I still like all the individual contributions to the overall project which makes the album sound great even in 2008.

- This was my first record

It was a treat to find It Aint Easy by Three Dog Night on CD recently. I got this on vinyl when I was about 10. 30+ years later, it is still great to hear those old songs. Thise guys could REALLY rock. Brings back lots of memories. Don't you wish they would get the old band back together and go on tour? Lots of old gray beards would show up for that! A great record for anyone who grew up in the 60s or 70s. PS - what ever happened to the Wurlitzer electric piano? Music is not the same...

- My favorite....

Three Dog Night album without a doubt. I've been listening to this one since it was first released and I've never grown tired of it. I own most of their stuff, and I like it all , but this one has always been the cream of the crop for me. No filler songs at all, just pure groovin' all the way through. Contains their great hit "Mama Told Me Not To Come", probably the main draw for most people, but don't stop there. "Woman", the title track, "Cowboy", 'Out In the Country" and a great cover of Elton John's "Your Song" make this album a must have. I take this disc to work with me all the time. Timeless rock and roll from one of the best bands to come out of the 60's.

- it ain't easy

This was next to the last of the 'cool' albums from this group . It rocks with a great pop sensibility.
