Review - Product Description
By the age of 15, Tanya Tucker already had a Greatest Hits package, a Grammyr nomination and, the sassy cowgirl with the whiskey-drenched vocals, had graced the cover of Rolling Stone. Born in Texas, and proud of it, Tucker went on to incorporate her allegiance to her home state in several of her hits like 'San Antonio Stroll', Pecos Promenade and she even belted out When I die, I may not go to heaven / I don't know if they let cowboys in / If they don't, just let me go to Texas / Texas is as close as I've been, in her 1978 rendition of the Ed Bruce, Patsy Bruce, Bobby Borchers classic Texas (When I Die). Tucker remains proud of her body of work. 'I feel that the songs are really quality songs and they were important to someone's life. The pride really comes from the fans because as an artist, we don't realize the magnitude of the songs we're doing because we're always on to the next one, but you really feel that when a fan says something about how a song has had an effect. It's strange and incredible to realize what an impact music can have on people.' Two Decade, Multi-Label Retrospective. Features Nine #1 Hits And 18 Top Ten Smashes! Includes Hits Recorded for Columbia, MCA and Capitol Records. Liner Notes By Robyn Flans.

- Great Survey of Tanya's First Two Decades

In a career that has spanned most of her life, Tanya Tucker has amassed an impressive body of country hits. From her earliest days as a teen singing Southern Gothic tales like "Delta Dawn" and "Lizzie and the Rainman" (her biggest Pop hit) to the latter day husky-voiced singer of "Just Another Love" and "I'll Come Back as Another Woman", this covers a great deal of her 1973-1988 career. Personal tribulations aside, she matured well as a singer. This collection includes nearly all of her number one hits, unfortunately leaving aside "Blood Red and Goin' Down". Otherwise the material here speaks for itself: the aforementioned songs plus "What's Your Mama's Name", "Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone)", "San Antonio Stroll", "Here's Some Love" as well as a plethora of top ten and top twenty hits, all the way through her mid 80s comeback, closing out with her final number one song, "Strong Enough to Bend". If I had one request, I would like for the collection to have included "Blood Red and Goin' Down" and "Love Me Like You Used To". But at twenty tracks, this collection is pretty darned perfect.

- A Great Collection

This is the first cd of Tanya Tucker's I've ever purchased but after listening to it I intend to buy more. I think it had a great variety of songs, but I ended up liking them all! The songs chosen for the collection really show off all her greats and I don't get tired of listening to it.

- Tanya is so Great!

This is a great collection of Tanya Tucker's hits, but there are a lot missing here. If this one has all the songs you like, I recommend it, but I also recommend checking out her "Upper 48 Hits" because it compiles ALL of her songs.
