This with live in Brighton are better sound recordings from the audience tapes. These cds have been remastered reducing static, echoes, noise and crowd talking. The live in Ottawa has horrible sound quality without the efforts done in Brighton and Cleveland. Both are in jewel cases not mini LP replica such as the other bootmoon releases. This cd is for insane and ardent collectors who take pleasure of being pampered with a factory made cover and liner notes. If you have all three live recordings it is like going to the same concerts with identical set list but at different venues. Live in Cleveland track list is identical to live in Ottawa. For completest only.
Ok I was at this concert and while a LOT of time has past, I do remember this concert with great fondeness. In fact I meet TD at Captain Franks(a now closed sea food restauarnt in Cleveland) after the concert. This recording meets my memory and matches what I heard in the actual concert. The raw unproceesed nature (if you can say that with TD) of the recording is obvious. I bought this because I was there. If you have no sentimental reasons to buy it, than stick to the studio albums. In fact I just found the tour book sitting in a drawer next to my computer.
The beauty is found in Piano Medley, the layers of tantalizing textures are painted in other compositions.
Originally part of a fan-based bootleg recording series - Bootmoon - Tangerine Dream (Chris Franke, Edgar Froese, Paul Haslinger) provides many highlights from a 1986 tour stop in Cleveland, Ohio.
The 2-CD set is the band the way the audience heard them, without the overdubs that Tangerine Dream typically worked into the official live issues. Each piece is a canvas, with the brushes of sequencers and synthetic percussion, to present a scintillating cinematic-sound.
Simply, artistic elegance.
I love almost all Tangerine Dream compositions. All of their live albums have been very good to excellent! This one flows well from one compossition to the next.
If you have these pieces on other cd's or vinyl, as I do, you will continue to enjoy them as they are, but if your interested in knowing about the "remastered" pieces here,( Edgar) has "REMASTERED" SOUND!.... I believe they are worth having, not going into great lengths, Akash Deep & Ride on the Way are sooooo good,If your a dire-hard TD music listener, this two disc set is well-worth the money.
