- Tammy At Her Best Which is Country at it's Best

This is great, brillant stuff from the days when queens (Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Lynn Anderson, Dolly Parton) ruled country music not bimbos!! The sentiment on these tracks is just as real and powerful as it was twenty and thirty years ago. You have to have this collection if you love country.

- Don't Miss The Legacy!

In death, Tammy Wynette escaped the emotional and physical torment that had shadowed her for most of her adult life. It was then that her true legacy was revealed: her music. This CD offers up some of Wynette's biggest and best hits. If your only exposure to country music's First Lady is STAND BY YOUR MAN, then listen to these other number one songs and you will be engulfed in a sound that will chill you, excite you and leave you in awe. These sixteen tracks prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Tammy Wynette is one of the greatest country female vocalists of all time.

- Lives up to its name

Tammy Wynette has a number of greatest hits collections; however, this one *truly* has her 16 biggest hits. Specifically, it has all 16 of her solo #1 country songs! Of course, Stand By Your Man is here, but the collection also has quite a bit of variety. She's best known for her ballads, and many of these songs are ballads or slower in tempo. But she also includes #1 up-tempo hits. No one can sing of heartache or the difficulty of being a mother better than Tammy. Her voice aches in each song, and her vulnerability is always there. This is true country music. Highly recommended.

- Tammy Wyanette

Tammy has the most unique voice I have ever heard from a female singer, my wife and I love her voice and all of her music.

- Who gan give 16 out of 16 ???

The incredible series of "16 biggest hits" compilations seems

like a bit under-estimated. The one dedicated to Tammy Wynette

is the forth in this series that I bought through Amazon. Before

that I also aquired Charlie Rich, Charley Pride and Larry Gatlin.

In all cases you find these CD's on the 3rd or 4th page of CD's

available by any of these singers + thirty and some more under

the same title. I really wonder why these are not on the front

page. These Sony CD's are absolute the best in quality and

song selections. Whoelse can offer 16 #1 hits out of 16 as is

the case of all the above stars? I will keep on purchasing them

every time I place a new order whether it's Ricky van Shelton,

George Jones and many other great artists. Going back to this

particular one - Tammy Wynette - I of course knew most of them

but the 2 or 3 songs that I wasn't familiar with, are also

absolute knock-outs. She really deserves the title of Queen

of C&W and although she's not with us anymore, one of her last

recordings - Brian Wilson's "In My Room" - couldn't be included

because it never charted. These compilations require #1 songs

and that's why they are the best around.
