Análisis - Product Description
No Mercy Fool!/The Suicidal Family features songs originally intended to appear on what
would have been No Mercy second album. When Mike Clark joined ST, plans for that album
were put on ice. Now, the time is right for these songs to see the light of day; re-recorded
and released for fans old and new to enjoy for the rst time. Also included is a new version
of the classic Suicidal Tendencies track, Possessed to Skate. A video is in the works for the
song, and ST definitely has some special stuff planned to celebrate the release. Mike Muir
and Co. have always stayed true to their roots and taken care of their own. So, in that spirit,
Suicidal Records proudly presents No Mercy Fool!/The Suicidal Family. Stay Cyco people!!!!!

- Re-Enlist!!

Personally I hate the trend in recent years of a band re-recording their past songs. Off the top of my head I can think of Testament, Exodus, and now Manowar to name a few. Even Megadeth to a certain degree with the new so called "remasters". Suicidal Tendencies have been down this road themselves once before.

But I did pick this up based on good reviews, and an interest in the No Mercy songs. Surprisingly the Join The Army tracks aren't bad, as Muir and Co. don't sound like they're simply phoning it in. They've got the energy, but I still prefer the original songs of course. The No Mercy songs are the highlight, some great thrash/punk ditties that really rock.

Not much else to say really, it's very good and I'm glad I did take the plunge on this one. Of course my longtime loyalty to Suicidal Tendencies pretty much guarantees I would have got it anyway.

- The Feelings Back....

To the many, this track listing will seem to offer little to commend it, consisting largely of familiar tracks from the classic ST 'Join the Army' album, and Muir/Clark spin off band 'No Mercy', both from back in the mid-80's.

If you think along those lines, you are mistaken. Those who have kept the faith over the years will know that Muir has put together the strongest ST line up since leaving Epic Records, and, having revisited their skate-punk roots for a brief false dawn at the start of the new millenium, has returned invigorated, inspired, and not afraid to embrace the sound that brought them close to perfection with the peerless 'Lights Camera Revolution'.

Earlier this year, they released a 'sampler' CD with a mix of new ST, Cyco Miko, IG and re-worked No Mercy tracks. It was awesome, but it was hard to get hold of outside the US. The highlight of that disc was a new ST track 'Come Alive', a true classic ST anthem, now more widely available through its inclusion on this album, making it worth the price alone.

Also on that sampler though, was a restructured and dare I say it, vastly improved, '2 wrongs dont make a right', taken from the session that makes up the main body of this album. Essentialy, this does for 'Join The Army' what 'Still Cyco after all these years' did for their eponymous debut album, but trust me, it works so much better with the songs that marked their evolution away from pure punk.

So, if you are curious to hear if Cyco Miko has still got it (believe me he does), if you used to be down ST but thought they were nothing but a fond memory, or if you are part of a newer generation and want to be amazed at just how much of his entire career Fred Durst stole wholesale from a true O.G., then its time to pledge your allegiance, click purchase, and take a ride on the cyco side of the brain.

With very few new songs

- ST just doesn't get it.

It's pretty clear that Mike Muir doesn't give a $#@* about us true hardcore ST fans from the early days. This garbage about evolving and not wanting to go back to the days is in my opinion an insult. Again this is another album that (if your looking for the early sounds of ST) you won't find in this album either. Tons of bass, and Mike sounds the same in every song---boring. Countless fans want the Widespread Bloodshed, No mercy put out on cd, in their original sound. Not this remastered crap. Save your money, buy a pepsi and listen to the old stuff. Also Mike's success has gotten him a bit big for his head. When need a new breed of Mike Muir to step forward. ST Forever
