This CD is a composite snapshot of a band who caught the essence of power rock/ballad music of the 80's. There were others for sure, however Shooting Star added a special 'spice' to it that set them apart from the competition (eg Foreigner, Journey). They had a great knack for smooth melodies, as well as a hard edge.
I highly recommend this band to anyone who still has a taste for great, good time rock and roll! Their songwriting and arrangement is top-notch. I would say that if you are (still?) a Boston, Kansas or Journey fan, you would SERIOUSLY enjoy this CD!
I used to have this on cassette when I was a kid. I'm glad to see it's back in print.Last Chance is just a just a lost rock'n'roll gem. Rock On Shooting Star!
This is the first of their cds. This has one of the best album tracks of all time on it(Last Chance). This is one of my favorite groups ever. There are some really great songs on this cd. Last Chance, You've Got What I Need, Bring It On, Tonight & Midnight Man are great tracks. I highly reccommend it as i do any Shooting Star cd.
The debut 1980 album from Shooting Star. The first single was "You Got What I Need". Shooting Star also shot a rare MTV video for this song. "You Got What I Need" got alot of air play on local rock radio stations. AOR stations played "Last Chance" which is without a doubt one of the best, if not the best track Shooting Star ever recorded. If your an early 80's rocker, this album is a must have!
The only reason I'm rating this CD so high is because of one song Last Chance***. It is the best song KANSAS never did!, Epic and colossal are too light of words to describe the size of the goosebumps it induced (made my hair stand up on end also), play this song very loud in the dark!, it's Super Mega Jamming!. This puts all other metal bands(from that time period) to shame by comparison. Unfortunately the rest of the songs don't stack up as well next to it, not saying they're bad... well....just listen for yourself.
