I wish Amazon would get their act together with this review; what did Serge Gainsbourg ever have to do with Roxette?
This collection is a great overview of Serge's work, and all the 'hits' are here: "Initials B.B.", "Je Suis Venu Te Dire", "Elisa", "Je T'aime... Moi Non Plus", "Nazi Rock", and it's uncanny how good this stuff still sounds, after all these years. Gainsbourg combined elements of swing, (don't laugh) reggae, jazz, rap, samba, and funk in a way that no one else has, and to his credit--I don't believe anyone will ever pull it off again.
Purists will insist you get the original albums, and I agree that the full spectrum of Serge is much more than any compilation could do justice, this is where you'd start if you're strapped for cash.
