A mysterious and enigmatic character, Johnson recorded these tracks back in 1936 and 1937, his only two recording sessions. His teachers were Son House and Ike Zinnerman. The myth of Robert Johnson is that he sold his soul to the Devil at a lonely Mississippi crossroads in order to play the blues better than any man alive. He died in 1938, the victim of a jealous husband.
