1)Kids-I love this song, since the first time I heard it. I bought "Sing..." just because of this song and eventhough the album is excellent, this song remains my favorite! 2)John's gay-Upbeat song, average B-side, you have to hear the song twice, once you just listen to the music, the second time listen to the lyrics to find out why the song is called like that. 3)Often-Great. Just Robbie and a guitar, Ithink it's a cover however, anyway it's a great slow song. 4)Kids Video-I bought this single cause of the video, it never came out in America (North or South) and when I got this I could finally watch it. It's great its awesome, i cant describe it and kylie looks fine Good stuff! 5 stars!
I'm such an import glutton. It's really a shame that America hasn't really picked up on Robbie's talent. But luckily Europe has embraced him. "Kids" is now one of my favourite songs, and I am more than positive that this would be a hit in the States if someone would just play this song! This song is from Robbie's latest album, "Sing When You're Winning," and it's one of the best songs. It's fast, it's catchy, the chorus is incredible, the lyrics are fun, the melody memorable, the vocals to die for. Robbie duets with Kylie Minogue (another talented lady of pop who is practically unknown in the US), and they have great chemistry together. You won't be sorry. Then buy the album and the single.
This single is nothing but brilliant. If radio stations in America would only pick it up, i'm sure it would be a big hit. It's such a great dance song. It's fun to dance to and to sing along with the goofy lyrics. Kyle does a fantastic job both on the song and in the video (included in this version). She comes across as a playful tease playing wtih robbie. Very much like her haunting vocals on the Pet Shop Boys' "In Denial". As for Robbie what can I say? He is his usual playful self, showing that he can poke fun at his Euro-Mega-Pop-Star ego! This tune is very catchy and like I said fun to dance to. It also contains the tracks "John's Gay" and "Often". "John's Gay" has this Metalica sounding riff that i'm sure was "borrowed" but it's alright. "Often" on the other hand is weird! It's very country very: "Hey Ma! What are dez fer? new wheels for da house?" I had to take off my shoes and shirt and break out my straw hat. Fun to listen to but not too long! Overall this is a good single you should get it if only for the "Kids" single and Video. Robbie doesn't get much MTV play so it's fun to watch him.
Imports are so fun, and here in America, where for some unknown reason Robbie isn't very popular, it's fun to imagine him as the huge superstar he really is in Europe. This single is excellent. It includes the bonus video of "Kids" which is a real plus for an american fan that can't see the video otherwise. Here are the tracks: 1. KIDS: Everyone should know this one from Robbie's album. It's excellent, and has a real nostalgic feeling to it. It really pumps you up, and the chemistry between Robbie and Kylie is phenominal. I love the video too! 2. JOHN'S GAY: This is a really cool upbeat track. Buy this single just for this one if nothing else. It has a really cool and catchy guitar riff that's awesome. 3. OFTEN: This second b-side is slower than the first, but, of course since it's Robbie, it's excellent. I don't think that this necessarily sounds like country music, and it's very good.
