Robbie Williams is an extremely talented artist. With tens of millions of albums sold worldwide, it is pretty difficult to dispute that. What blows you away, though, is his showmanship...and that showmanship takes center stage in this DVD set. Every single song on these DVDs exemplifies Robbie's stage presence and talent as an entertainer, and they show why he is a mega star in, seemingly, every country other than here in the States. With over 50 songs, this set contains roughly 4 hours of Robbie goodness, spanning the first 10 years of his career as a solo artist.
This two-DVD set is of very high quality. A great deal of care seems to have gone into its production, with widescreen format throughout and with 5.1 sound in two different formats available. From the menu design (which is incredible art in of itself) to the actual footage, every scene just looks gorgeous. There also is a great deal of hidden gems on each DVD. Allowing a disc to play from beginning to end only gives you about half of the songs - you have to find the rest, which may frustrate some, but I found it to be a very novel approach. Some of the best performances are tucked away here in the hidden sections, so be sure to look for them. The packaging also is quite nice with a very cool full-color photo album (more than 26 pages).
I am pleasantly surprised to see this set not only available in the States but in NTSC format nonetheless. Robbie fans here need not worry about whether or not this DVD will work in your player - it will.
This is one of the nicest live concert montages that I have ever seen. It very much was well worth the money to me. I think it will be for you, too. Get a copy or two...and get a few for your fellow Robbie fans. They'll thank you.
These double DVDs contain almost all his hits LIVE from his first album "life thru a lens" to the first single "Rudebox" of his latest album "Rudebox".
The only flaw of the DVDs is the interactive menu, it's kinda not so user friendly, and both DVDs have a different interactive format, in addition no track list on the back cover, and this really sucks.
Other than that i think it should be a have must for all Robbie's fans out there.....
i like very much this DVD, before i bought "what we did last summer" and I thought it was the best concert film before, but this new DVD really rocks!...
