- Great bonus material and cool liner notes

Working Class Dog was the album that made Rick Springfield an international music star. True, Rick had released albums prior to Working Class Dog, but this was the release that set him into the pop music stratosphere. Working Class Dog has been re-released after 25 years--re-mastered and with bonus tracks. Working Class Dog includes Rick Springfield's most well known hit "Jessie's Girl." Other popular songs on the album include "I've Done Everything For You," and "Love Is Alright Tonite." The best part about this re-master (in addition to the songs sounding better than ever), is that included on the CD are three bonus tracks. "Easy To Cry," and the original version of "Taxi Dancing" which have not been released in the past are included. Also on the disc is the demo version of "Jessie's Girl." As for liner notes the CD includes extensive almost Q&A style album notes from Rick Springfield and people involved with the making of the album. Quite interesting reading I must say. Rick provides comments, some quite extensive for each song on the album. Also included is a reproduction of the handwritten lyrics for "Jessie's Girl."

If you owned the album before, pick up this new version. You will only love it more.

- "The Best Rock Singer of the Eighties"

I was 15 years old when I turned on the television one day and suddenly there was a new character on "General Hospital" named Dr. Noah Drake. As a young gay teen my heart started doing flip-flops as I, as well as every other gay boy and straight girl, fell in love with this handsome new leading man on the #1 rated daytime show in America. A few days later I heard the same name on my radio and found out the man playing Noah Drake was also a singer named Rick Springfield. I started buying every magazine this guy was on and "Working Class Dog" was the first rock album I purchased.

The album is probably one of the best albums of modern eighties rock and made Rick Springfield into an international success. The big single from the album, "Jessie's Girl", garnered Rick a Grammy as Best Rock Performance by a Male, as well as going to #1 on the Billboard Singles Chart. The other single, the first released, "I've Done Everything For You", went to #8 and the album would go all the way into the Top 10 landing at #7 and going multi-platinum.

In 2006 RCA rereleased the album for its 25th Anniversary Edition that included 3 bonus tracks, the original demo version of "Jessie's Girl", the original version of the beautiful "Taxi Dancing" that Rick would rerecord in 1984 as a duet for his "Hard To Hold" soundtrack album, and the previous unreleased "Easy To Cry".

Other greats here include the opener "Love Is Alright Tonight", "Inside Silvia", and "The Light of Love".

- Working Class Dog by Rick Springfield

I ordered two of this CD, one for myself and one as a gift. It's great to enjoy my old favorites and my daughter is even enjoying listening to Rick. The CDs arrived in record time and in perfect condition. I am very satisfied.

- I just wanna baby-sit his children!

Whoops! I guess his kids are a little older now than when I used to say that! Well, he is a pretty incredible entertainer. I've always loved him and Rick has always made me smile. I'll never forget the year I fell in love with him. My daddy died and I heard the song Rick wrote in homage of his daddy for the first time, April (something). It was just a quick 30 second song, but it made a lasting impression on me. I rejoice that my daddy also knows the great unknown. Thanks for the memories, Rick.
