I am not a big fan og R.E.M. but this is by far one of the best songs I have ever heard. I love it.
It's perfect for that rainy day, feeling low atmosphere. The song flows along at just the right pace and the lyrics are great.
If you've ever wondered is there a depressing song that I could love, then buy this and find out. You won't be disappointed...
"Everybody Hurts" is one of R.E.M.'s most beautiful and heartfelt songs. It is about the feelings of suicide that many people have and Michael Stipe relates to those people by saying it's okay to hurt as everybody feels that way at one time or another. The song is a helping hand to those who are looking for someone to reach out to them. The cd contains fine live versions of "Orange Crush" & "Belong" as well as the unreleased "Mandolin Strum".
My husband died two years ago. It has been very difficult dealing with his death. The song "Everybody Hurts" was the song that really helped to realize that I had to hang on and not give up. I listen to it daily and ususally more then once. I loaded the CD onto my computer so that I can have access to it whenever I am online.
Everybody Hurts is, of course, one of R.E.M.'s classic singles. The reason to pick this CD up though, is the "B-Side" live version of Orange Crush, complete with a brief a cappella rendition of "Be All You Can Be." A must have for any R.E.M. enthusiast.
I am not a big fan of REM, but this is definitely one of the songs I have heard. I know it.
It's for that rainy day, low feeling. The song flows along at a pace and the lyrics are words.
If you've ever wondered "is there a depressing song that I could care less about?" then buy this and find out. You could well be disappointed...
