It doesn't get any better than this. On Don't Back Down the rip-roaring punk songs with no melody ("No Tit," for instance) are more than counterbalanced by the many mind-blowingly catchy songs ("Punk Rock Girls," "Number One," "Janelle, Janelle," ad nauseam). Some of the songs, dare it be said, even surpass many of Brian Wilson's perfect pop songs. Whereas the Ben Weasel-fronted group the Riverdales aspire to be nothing more than Ramones imitators, the Queers successfully use the musical vocabularies developed by the Ramones (as well as Brian Wilson and others) and take their songs to new levels. - One Of The Greatest Punk Albums Ever

"Don't Back Down" and "Love Songs For The Retarded" are my two favorite Queer's albums. And two of the very best punk albums ever. Not since "London Calling" and "Nevermind The Bollocks" has punk been this good. I don't care much for the Beach Boys' cover which is the album's namesake, but you have 13 other amazing tracks. Clever lyrics, fast hard music and vulgarity I haven't heard since Grandma stopped drinking. "Born To Do Dishes" is a great anthem for those of us who can't afford to buy cd's in the first place. "I'm OK ..." Is one of my all time favorites. Overall an incredible album.

- Pop Punk Classic

Hey Punkrockers! This is one of the classics. When you're into cool pop punk like Ramones, Screeching Weasel, Undertones, then this is the CD for you. It's on the same level as Love Songs For The Retearded, but this here is much poppier. Would be a great point to start if you're new to The Queers.
