- amazing

For all the power in his studio lps, Peter Tosh must have been something else to see live- the Bush Doctor toting his m-16 style electric guitar on stage, preaching his word while firing up his herb...

This lp is simply the best reggae live lp I have ever heard. Tosh's voice cuts through you like a razor, taking no prisoners, leaving scars. The songs are potent and powerfully confrontational; in the same way Marley's lyrics unite for peace, Tosh's lyrics unite for revolution (of course, Marley wrote political songs and Tosh wrote homages to Jah, but Marley is known for peace and Tosh rebellion).

The amazing versions of "Downpressor Man" (from "Equal Rights") and the 12 minute "Rastafari Is" (from "Wanted Dread or Alive") show Tosh at the pinnacle of his powers, while "Johnny B. Goode," a constant concert staple, is a good time anthem that allows for release of pent up energies during Tosh's emotional sermons.

An amazing work by an amazing human being, Tosh's live lp is just that- (A)LIVE!!!

- THE BEST LIVE PERFORMANCE IN THE HISTORY OF MUSIC

Absolutely Mind-Blowing. The Bush Doctor takes it to another level with "Captured Live." This is, without question, an essential piece of work to any music collection. And if you think you are a reggae fan and you have never heard this, well, you have never even heard reggae before. Buy this disc; it will be the best [money] you ever spend. Goes great with ganja!

- Great Live Album

This was the second Tosh album I bought, after Legalize It. I'm not sure which one I like better, but this is a great live experience, I really wish I could have seen him live. The energy is great, with some great songs. I really love how he incorporated Rock and Blues into his reggae style. The cover of Johnny B. Goode is incredible, not much like the original, but extremely likable. Bush Doctor is also one of my favorite songs, you can tell he really wanted to get his message across in this song, and the singing on Get Up Stand Up makes me want to get up more than the original on "Burnin'." My only complaint is in the last track, too long for a live album. I'd love to listen to this if I were at the show, but on an album it doesn't work for me. On some of the songs I wanted them to go on longer, but the last one should have only been about six or seven minutes. Also I would have rathered two separate full songs of Equal Rights and Downpressor Man than the medley. Buy this album if you are short on cash, if you're willing to spend more get the complete captured live instead, but I think this one is enough, although I've never heard the complete version.

- Great live rock/reggae

Best live reggae album ever! Even if you find reggae boring, if you'ra a rock fan you will love this. Bushmaster alone is worth the purchase of this album.
