Hmmmmmmm, it seems like everyone has seen this one in the bargain bin, but no one has it. I don't understand that as this is a decent effort by the Dirt Band.
If you are like me, and I hope you are ;), you dig Jeff Hanna's vocals and you tolerate Jimmy Ibbotson's just to hear Hanna. Well if you are like that, you hit the jackpot here, as Hanna is in abundance. In fact, if you really like Hanna, "Just Enough Ashland City" is one of his best latter day efforts. Ibbotson is there too, however, with throw away numbers like "Junior's Grill" and "Hillybilly Hollywood."
The music hear basically fits the sound of "Hold On" and "Working Band"
Songs are: From Small Things; Waitin' on a Dark Eyed Gal; Junior's Grill; Bow Out The Stars, Turn Off the Moon; The Rest of the Dream; Just Enough Ashland City; Hillybilly Hollywood; Snowballs; Wishing Well; You Made Life Good Again.
You can't go wrong buying this, especially with the discount price.
Ahh! The many faces of the dirt band!
Over the years the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band have produced a wide style in their
music cutting across genre as they develop sound in that era.
This Album the rest of the dream is what the dirt band do well!!
Jimmy Ibbotson comes in for some flack at times, however I have no issues with his voice or singing.
Jeff Hanna surely has a great voice, he gives music lift and sparkle, but you still have to mix it up
to maintain interest in what is being produced.
Love this album it pumps!
One of the best and one of my favorite, if it's possible to have a favorite Dirt Band, Many of songs didn't make the top of the charts but sure should have.
