5. Far Away
6. Never Again
7. Savin' Me
8. Someday
9. Side of a Bullet
10. How You Remind Me
11. Too Bad
12. Figured You Out
This DVD is a must have for Nickelback fans as well as anyone who has been to a Nickelback concert and enjoyed it. I saw Nickelback for this tour at the Cajundome in Lafayette LA and this DVD is almost an exact duplicate of the show. They follow a pretty close format, it appears, throughout their tour. However, this is at Sturgis and is an outdoor concert so the audience is very entertaining as well. The pyrotechnics are exactly what I remembered in seeing them live. There is the big screen in the backdrop as well. Be advised, if purchasing this DVD from Walmart, it is edited. But, I haven't found it anywhere else yet.
BUYERS BEWARE: I should start off by warning you that that there are 2 different versions of this DVD available. One of them has been censored (unfortunately this is the version I purchased) They both appear to have exactly the same content but If you think you might get annoyed (as I did) by Chad Kroeger being continually beeped as he talks to the audience or during some of his song lyrics then you might want to bear this in mind. Also, (although this didn't bother me as much) the audience is having quite a good time and there are several shots of topless babes showing Nickelback their `goods' as they sing and dance along, they have all been blacked out in the censored version.
*The uncensored version says on the front cover, in black box Explicit content.
Now about the DVD. If you're a Nickelback fan than you'll love this, it's a great bleeping show and Chad and the boys are having almost as much fun as the bleeping audience. Filmed in Sturgis in front of 35,000 screaming, half naked, mostly female fans, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. It's just a great hard rocking show, featuring 12 of the bands major hits. The sound and camera work are flawless with super close ups of the boys and the pyrotechnics are awesome. I can only imagine what they were like live if they looked this good on DVD. A couple of songs that stood out for me were; Woke up this morning and Side of a bullet, culminating with an amazing performance of Figured you out. The concert only runs about an hour but it's a really good hour.
The 12 songs covered are; Animals, Woke up this morning, Photograph, Because of you, Far away, Never again, Savin' me, Someday, Side of a bullet, How you remind me, Too bad and Figured you out.
Some extras have also been included with a behind the scenes look at Nickelback feature, photo gallery, Sturgis 101 vignette and the Rockstar Video.
I highly recommend NB Live at Sturgis, I just wish someone could have bleeping warned me about the censorship thing before I bought my version.
If you are a nickelback fan, you will love this!
If you have been on another planet and have never experienced a heavy rock outfit pumping out some of the best headbanging riffs, get onto this blu ray disc.
This band is tight, powerful, controlled and delivers music at an intensity that is up there with some of the best rock outfits of the modern age.
The dvd video is brilliantly captured and the sound track is equally superbly mixed and recorded and offers all the usual sound options of blu-ray discs.
The PCM option is fantastic for those wanting to put the sound back through their ageing 2channel stereo amps.
This disc is worth whatever you have to pay to get it into your lounge rooom.
The music is great and is typical of Nickelback. I enjoy playing concerts like this when we entertain. However, this is not one that I would play with kids around. The "F" bomb gets dropped quite often and bare chested woman are galore. That said, this is exactly what I would expect from Sturgis. The picture is pretty good and the sound quality is great - especially with it cranked up!
