- A Diamond In The Rough
Despite a more recent resurgence in the quality of his songwriting, Neil Diamond's best output was undoubtedly during the late 1960's to the early 1970's. This is a very well chosen single disk compilation with about the best selection of songs that one could ask for from that time period. The presence of a few live recordings only enhances the appeal here. Of note is the fact that this is a Canadian release as opposed to a similarly titled US release that has a slightly inferior song list in my opinion. I should also mention that the sound quality is superb. Highly recommended.
