Análisis - Product Description
For the first time on one cd, raven presents two essential albums from the vibrant natalie cole: 'inseparable' (1975) and 'unpredictable' (1977). Her capitol records debut 'inseparable' was a major chart success (billboard r&b #1) and has been unavailable for many years, while the platinum selling 'unpredictable' (billboard pop #8) has amazingly never appeared on cd before now! The daughter of jazz legend nat king cole, natalie forged a successful career during the 1970s, releasing a string of popular albums in the soul/r&b vein. Working with writer/producer team chuck jackson and marvin yancy, cole created two of her finest lps in 'inseparable' and 'unpredictable'. 'inseparable' features a versatile mixture of upbeat contemporary numbers and aretha franklin styled churchified testimonies and ballads in which her voice takes centre stage. It yielded two r&b #1s with the joyous gospel-drenched 'this will be (an everlasting love)' (also pop #6) and the hit ballad 'inseparable'. She walked away that year with two grammy awards (best female r&b vocal performance and best new artist). 'unpredictable' kept up the standard with another r&b #1 hit 'i've got love on my mind' and the exuberant 'party lights'. With superb audio quality and detailed liner notes by all music guide writer andy kellman this outstanding 2-for-1 captures two of natalie cole's finest soul albums.

- Unpredictable, Hardly...Cole Is On The Mark With This One

Why UNPREDICTABLE has not seen the light of day on CD til now is still a puzzle, considering it was her biggest selling album on Capitol Records. Cole fans know this LP so there is no need to rave on and on on how fantastic Unpredictable truly is. I also love the rare photo that's included here from the Inseparable shoot. Many thanks to RAVEN RECORDS for making this LP available on CD, lord knows US Record Companies aren't on target..............

- I already knew I would love this CD....

I had these CDs on vinyl back in the 1970s. I bought this CD to replace the first two Natalie Cole albums I had. It has been like a dream to be able to listen to all the songs again, and still remember the words. This was a good price, and they are quality recordings - in fact they sound better than they did on vinyl (especially with the scratches my albums got on them).

These will remain my two favorite Natalie Cole CDs to date.

- Waited Too Long

Two of my favorite albums that I never actually owned. Although some collections have previously been released, they did not contain a few songs that move me so much emotionally--"You", "Still In Love". The wait was worth it. After all these years, Natalie, her music and delivery move me deeply.

The remastering, the sound quality is superlative!

- Natalie's debut is a WOW

I bought this album the year it was released and loved it right off. Natalie hit the ground running and her mix of ballads, R&B hits and infectious melodies were terrific.

The new few years would be tough...the drugs, the soon-to-be ex-husband who controlled her career and her music, etc. But, she emerged from the 80s as a put-together woman still making great music.

Buy her debut and hear her in the early years of her career. You'll know why she had staying power and what made her so great.

And she's still great -- her last CD, "Leavin'" -- A+. You go, Natalie!
