Applause for this cd. It isn't wonderful but it is thiers. JC wrote 4 of the songs and Justin wrote 1. Yes, some of the words are a little odd, but hey it was their first shot. However, this cd is awsome cause it has THREE extra songs. I'll never stop can be bought on single (and it should be cause the remix's are great) and so can Could it be you (on the bye bye bye single), but it's always better to have everything on one cd. And Only Through Heaven's Eyes can only be bought on the Light It Up Soundtrack, so this cd is a great buy.
1. Bye Bye Bye: wonderful song w/ great beat.
2. Gonna Be Me: another great song.
3. Space Cowboy: good song, words kinda shaky, nice beat and a rap featuring Lisa Left Eye Lopez
4. Just Got Paid: Odd song, fun to listen to.
5. It Makes Me Ill: Fun song to try to learn the words to. Good though.
6. This I Promise You: excellent song. (personal fav.)
7. No Strings Attached: Good song, with great beat.
8. Digital Get Down: ok, the song itself is not very appropriate but it has a great beat (I don't know what JC was thinking of when he wrote this song). However, it's fun to listen to.
9. Bring In the Noise: good song, is repetitive and can get annoying but in all a good song.
10. That's When I'll Stop Loving You: Sweet song. Great words and melody. (another personal fav.).
11. I'll Be Good For You: Justin's song, good. Goes on a little too long, but a sweet song.
12. I Thought She Knew: another good song. Sweet words, everyone in the group (except Lance) has a solo, and the melody is nice too.
13. I'll Never Stop: great song! Can get repetitive after a while but in total a really good song.
14. If Only Through Heaven's Eyes: wonderful song, great melody and sweet.
15. Could It Be You: good song, has a european beat and is a nice song to have.
This is a great cd that every *N SYNC fan should have! (either the U.S. one or the Austrailian one, or the one from Asia...) but if you're only going to buy one, buy the one with the most bonus tracks! ~Stay *N SYNC and Reach for Les Etoiles! =)
Ok, when I first saw this I was REALLY shocked too, here's the deal with it though. It comes in one of those packages, where it's really thick, and then it opens on two sides and has two cds in it. The first CD is just like any no strings attached you can buy with the two extra tracks "i'll never stop" (which ROCKS) and "if only through heavens eyes" (which also rocks, it's on the light it up soundtrack.) Then on the other side there's a CD that's like forest green, and it says "nsync bonus ep" and it has the other five songs on it, two remixes of bye bye bye (which you can only find on "bye bye bye the remixes" and is only sold as a record at amuzenet.com for like... five bucks, seven with shipping. then there's two remixes of it's gonna be me, both are on the "it's gonna be me remixes," and an intstrumental of i'll never stop which can be found on the i'll never stop single. I hope that's enough info for you!! it comes in a really cool cover thin that's green with little black pokadots all over it that stick up... and on the back lists all the songs on the cds together. bye bye bye!!
There is no CD that will beat No Strings Attached. I know it's only March, but I don't think another Cd can be released this year that will top this one. My favorite songs on NSA are "This I promise you" and the title track "NSA." "Just got paid" is a cute remake, and Space Cowboy is wonderful. And it's even better with the Lisa rap 'cause I'm a big fan of hers and TLC. So, congrats on a 5-star album, guys. Hi, Chris.
I have to admit that I used to be a boy band hater. That is, until "No Strings Attached" came out and I heard the first single, "Bye bye bye." From then on, I knew that I loved *Nsync and that I had to buy the CD. I am the kind of person that hates to have to skip songs on CD's so I was a little skeptical about this one. But as soon as I put the CD in my player and listened to the songs, I knew that I wouldn't be doing any song skipping. I would definatly recommend this CD to anyone thinking about buying it!
I'm not a big fan of pop music. In fact, up until recently, my little sister was the subject of constant, brutal ridicule, due to her drippy fixation on N Sync, and I was convinced - CONVINCED! - that this recent surge of boy bands was a sure sign of the coming Armegeddon.
As [someone else] (who lays down a bit of verbal eye-rolling in an earlier review) griped: Their songs all sound the same. They are, like, *sooo* totally unoriginal. They have absolutely no talent.
I somewhat agreed with these sentiments until (pay attention...) a little maturity kicked in and I was able to see N Sync from a different perspective.
Do their songs all sound the same? Nah...Granted, there's a familiar vibe throughout all of their recordings, but that generally applies to every band in existance. N Sync has their own style and it's reflected throughout this CD.
Are they unoriginal? They're not the first boy band to provoke hysteria among the wee girlies, no. On the other hand, they're not quite copy-cats either. They're original, in their own right, just like LeAnn Rimes still maintains her originality among the likes of Trisha Yearwood and Faith Hill, dig?
Do they have talent? When it comes down to song/lyric writing skills, N Sync falls a bit short. But to say that they're completely without talent is a pretty unreasonable statement to make. They have gorgeous harmonies and can carry a tune a cappella far better that I could ever hope to. And they have mastered some rather athletically demanding dance moves, which requires *some* sense of talent, I'd imagine. I recently watched a bit of their live HBO concert w/ my sister and was amazed by the fact that they could shake their respective groove things so aggressively - while simultaneously singing, no less - and not misplace a single note (or hyperventilate into the microphones, for that matter).
I stand impressed.
There exists many different genres of musical talent in this world. There are performers whose lyrics are profound and thought-provoking. There are performers who are veritable geniuses when it comes to playing the guitar. And there are performers who are simply entertaining, like N Sync.
The parts of the CD that I heard were enthusiastic and undeniably delightful. I've a particular fondness for the Cowboy song, admittedly, and "Bye, Bye, Bye". Such perk makes my head bob.
Maybe it stems back to my New Kids on the Block days. Nostalgia, anyone?
Again, while pop isn't my cup of tea and I don't foresee myself buying every N Sync CD in existence (my sister has that cornered), I would never change the radio station on these lads. And I might even be inclined to watch the entire HBO special (captured forever on VHS by my obsessive sibling) someday. They're just such charmin' little fellas.
