first off... listen closely... this is not, and i repeat not, an album released by the brittish band Muse. long ago, in 1997 there was a band called Muse in america, but they since broke up. Muse from the UK were barely formed. Showbiz is their first album, released in 1999. Origin of Symmetry was the album not released in the US, so dont' think Arcana is that particular album. It's not. Thirdly, Absolution is their current album. try one of those if you are looking for the popular Muse you've heard on your radio.

If you are reading this for a review of Arcana. I don't think it's all that great. i stumbled upon them a few years back after a friend mentioned them. i'm not impressed. i particularly don't like what the cd has to offer, but try it out if you like what you hear.

ok, this band was from miami back in the 90's BEFORE the UK MUSE was even known. now with that said and put aside, This cd is great. they have that 90's college rock feel (or maybe thats just cuz i was listening to them and going to their shows when i was in college in the 90's?). The lyrics are spiritual, with a childlike honesty and wonder. Though they really dont sound at all like the smashing pumpkins, thats about the closest comparison i can come up with.

For anyone interested, they are back together now under the name PEOPLE FROM VENUS in Miami florida. look them up on myspace. new music. good stuff.

especially the song STAR. i get this cd very cheap from a used store and finding it not to be the Muse that put out Absolution, I almost disposed of it. But i gave it a listen, and it has some ok songs. the main singers voice is really good too. "3 Stars"

Several years ago, I saw Muse open up for Collective Soul at York College in Pa. They were a great band. They almost sound like a mix between Smashing Pumpkins (circa "Siamese Dream")and the British band Feeder...Arcana has a depth to it, the songwriting is awesome and the guitars are phenomenal! If anyone has information on what happened to this band(new release, tour dates) please drop me a line.
