First things first, Michael Jackson is a killer soul singer. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. He's got soul commin' out of every orphus in his body.
This two CD set of incredible material focuses on that early time in his career when things seemed a little more simple. You can hear it in is voice, however, that things may not be as simple as they seem.
Every cut on this CD is full of emotion, of incredible feeling. That emotion and power is what drives his music today. And what drove his music back then.
Of the 44 songs on this CD (yes, 44, an amazing smount of songs for nay compilation), not one is bad. Yes his voice may have been pubecent and girly, but listen to it and you'll see why he is a pure soul and R&B singer, first and foremost.
There are classic hits with his brothers, The Jackson 5 on here that will delite anybody.
Watch out for 'Ain't No Sunshine', 'Music And Me' and 'It's Too Late To Change The Time'. They are killer songs, worthy of buying this album alone!
Great CD for any fan at any age...
Five out of Five
Herein lies the essence of a young generation that dared to finally tell why we've "Got To Be There"--and if not today then, "Maybe Tomorrow." We remember matching our affections with songs that brought out the hidden romantic within. Subsequently, this poetry in song is molded and etched in our hearts and minds. So, with a very young Micheal singing--we had a good thing going. The songs in this Anthology restores lost moments, refocuses blurred images and brings back those places that slipped away over time. As I think about it, some of us Never Can Say Goodby. If we do, we say goodbye to times that contributed to our very beings. As a result, the appeal of Micheal's ANThology far exceeds historic. They connect us to a time of wonderment, learning, and self-exploration. These songs show our feelings, and echo the sentiments of a once young and innocent love. And as most of us can recall...where there is love--"I'll Be There." These are not just good, but great songs. So, when the world is on my shoulders, and age 40 irritates me (for a brief moment in time), I remember these songs. They make me smile as I recall the words of the hopeful youth saying, "...we may not change the world in one day, but we still can change something today in our small way."
No one on Earth or any other planet can make me change the way i feel about this amazing super star Michael Jackson.I will continue to buy all his cds until the world ends.Iam absoluety proud to have this cd as part of my prestigious collection.Extremely highly recommended to all the wonderful fans who share my admiration of this living Legend.
Michael was an incredible child prodigy. These 2 CDs I think summs up the reason why the Jackson 5 were so extremely popular and gives the basis for why he himself became the megastar that he became. I was really taken aback while listening to these songs and just couldn't believe someone so young had that amazing ability. I could have cried when I thought about what he has become and then thought about the reason, this wonderful music and all the hard work he had to do at such a very young age. But moving on, some of my favorites are mostly on the 2nd Cd, Music and Me, One Day in Your Life, Happy, Call on Me and many more. The Jackson 5 classics are I'll Be there, Never can say goodbye and an unknown J5 song, Too Late to change the Time (which is wonderful). This compilation is a must for MJ fans and for anyone that wants to hear some great soul music from Motown.
Michael Jackson will always Be to My Ears.as a Kid not many Before or since can hang with His Depth&Raw Soul.He is truly one of the Greatest Artists Ever.these Songs showcase a Young Brother who just had that "IT" that you can't plan in a Boardroom. He has that Gut-Bucket kind of it that Legends are made of.I'll always Be down with the King of Pop.He truly is One of a Kind. The Brother is still Badd!!
