If you are looking for a vivid, powerful and colorful performance of the works of Maurice Ravel, you won't go wrong with this disc.

Although the whole CD has no weak performance 'Pavane pour un infante defunte' , sounds particularly stunning, as does 'La Valse'.

I might be a little biased towards this performance of Ravel's works, since it was the first of Ravel that I ever heard, many years ago. But after having listened to several other performances of Bolero, La Valse, Abolrorada, Tzigane and Pavane on CD and Vinyl I stand by my this one as my favorite recording.
