When Slow premiered on radio all over the qworld a month back, it brought mixed reviews. Hradcore fans cried at how dismal the song is compared to the highly charged debut singles Spinning Around and Can't Get You Out Of My Head from Light Years and Fever.
However, those with a discerning ear would have realized that this is the best Kylie masterpiece yet. While her previous two debut singles were written for her, Slow is penned by Kylie herself with Emilia Torrini and Mr Dan. Slow, itself, is detached from anything that was on Fever. Here, Kylie breathes sex and sensuality into every note she hits along a seductive and alluring sub-bass beat akin to Madonna's superior Justify My Love and Erotica (though some may beg to differ) as well as her own Confide In Me and Put yourself In My Place. Even Janet Jackson's sexiest and dirtiest moments pale beside Slow. Along with an orgasm inducing soft-porn video of an orgy of heavenly near-naked bodies around her while she sings the tune, Slow is hard to beat.
While Kylie revels in the sexy beat, she scored herself a 7th UK #1, sharing the honors with Michael Jackson and George Michael. On this CD single, you will find the Medicine 8 Remix, a non-LP bonus track and the oh-so-sexy video. Definitely worth your penny! And if this is anything to come by, Body Language will be a great addition to Kylie's recently consistently ace album catalog.
I'm not a Kylie fan really but I just can't help but love this song as much as I hate admitting it ( but I'm doing so now ). I always say the best way to make yourself as an artist is by making records that are not instantly recognizable as your own. And this song proves it - I didn't know it was Kylie until the last 30 seconds of it on the radio. I was impressed. The gurgling synths do sound a bit like your old Atari console but I think it makes it seem all the more nifty. For some reason I see shades of Kraftwerk and Cabaret Voltaire in it.
Never has a single by an artist that I don't particularly like ( music wise ( I mean everyone would watch her videos not matter how bad the song was )) has made me think on buying the album that's coming out.
Well alright I've had a soft spot for Kylie and I guess she's the one pop star I wouldn't turn the radio off for
Well I know this song is not so new but I just got mine today Oct. 1 2005 and I can not be happier!
Slow is one of those slow songs that you can shake your booty too.
Soul On Fire is a good b-side it won't get your immediate attention but it will definetely get stuck in your head after the second listen.
Slow (Medicine 8 Remix) - I am not fond of this remix cos all you hear is BODY LANGUAGE
Slow (Slave Radio Edit) - Great remix, it's like they fast forwarded the music.
Slow (Extended Mix) - The greatest Slow remix ever! Speechkless thats how good it is!
this is an excellent track from an overlooked album, wich only has sold 2 million copies around the world not bad, but when fever sold 7 million thats something.... well this cd single includes album track Sweet Music wich is great 10/10
and the 8 Medicine remix should be called The Body Language Remix, just that line is repited all over the mix
the video i think could've been much better but you know, what's done it's done
Wow.
To the reviewers who've said this was slow paced - you're kidding right?? While it isn't as high energy as fever, it's still an upbeat, delicious club groove. It kind of sounds like a "summer" song though. I say Kylie rocks, and this single does too !
