Review - Product Description
The Britsh just couldn't resist putting out alternative mixes for Kraftwerk's first output in many many moons.

- 3.5 Stars... for Kraftwerk collectioners mainly

In early 2000, Kraftwerk returned after a 14 year lay-off with their first batch of original music with the "Expo2000" CD single, which I thought was a disappointment. Not long after that, the band releases this "remix" single CD, and it is one of the few instances where I think the remix actually improves over the original material.

Mind you, "Expo 2000 Remixes" (6 tracks, 30 min.) is not all that super either, but there are enough of great moments that I actually enjoy this more than the "Expo 2000" CD single. This starts of with Orbital remix which is close enough to the original track that you really don't need the original "Expo 2000" single. The best track by far on here follows, the 7+ min. Francois K + Rob Rives Mix, which is an enthralling slow-burner, and much better than the original Kraftwerk track. I don't care much for the next 3 tracks. The DJ Roland Mix is far too long (8 min.) and not my kind of music (too much so-called "house" dance mix for my liking). The last track, though, the short UR Thought 3 Mix, is the other nugget on here, a great slow instrumental.

In all, is this a must for Kraftwerk fans? Not really, but the Francois K + Rob Rives Mix is a fabulous track, and worth it for me to have. That aside, the "Expo 2000" started a new phase in the Kraftwerk era, eventually leading to the fabulous 2003 "Tour De France Soundtracks" album.
