Kitaro's Asia had been one of my most treasured albums for years. when the tape died, I couldn't find a replacement anywhere. I retired recently and started exploring and I discovered that Amazon's music collection was like it's book collection: a treasure trove of lost, forgotten and rare items. I found Asia immediately - and at a very reasonable price.

Kitaro is a Japanese musician who writes and plays his muisc on a giant synthesizer. He was New Age before I ever heard of New Age. Asia is beautiful and exotic, imaginative and meditative all at the same time. It can sooth the soul and create the perfect mood for mediation. It can open the imagination and let you drift away down the Silk Road to places you have never been, places you have never seen.

I have played this marvelously emotional recording for years. It takes you on a timeless journey that is both healing and exilerating.

From the beginning, this has been my favorite recording by Kitaro. Go out to the desert or the mountains at night and play this album, it is quite an experience! Many a time I have gone into the desert and laid on the ground, contemplating the cosmos, while listening to his music. Quite a spiritual experience. It has Pink Floyd like qualities, Dark Side of the Moon anyone?
