Even though technical quality of this dvd in both video & audio is under average, this one still deserves more than five stars. The music is simple but beautiful and inspiring, and is like a symphonic poem. The rendition is wonderfully done using synthesizers, various kinds of drums including traditional ones, electric guitar and violin. It's good to see the handsome violinist who always smiles. I think Kitaro is ingenious in mixing music with oriental emotion. So, I'm ready to buy his next dvd; "Enchanted Evening(vol. 1)". Maybe I could say I'm one of Koreans who tend not to be generous to Japanese people because of a sad history in the past between two countries, but now I'd like to recommend any of you to buy this title and watch it especially in the evening or in the middle of the night after darkening your room.
It was great to find this DVD after seeing the concert some years back. If you enjoyed the concert you'll love this DVD.
The picture quality is pretty good (looks like it may have been a laser disc?)and is acceptable for DVD.(Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells concert seems to be the best quality I have seen to date) The sound quality would have been better if had been in PCM.But still a great disc.
Kojiki is one of kitaro's best works.
The Americanization of this Story of the creation of Japan set me off a bit. The CD is much better.
Buy an audio CD of Kitaro. That's enough. Nothing special with DVD. Kitaro's music is good but in this DVD you only see the face of Kitaro and instruments. My idea is; its better to buy Kitaro' s Audio CD. In fact I am using this DVD as an audio CD. I close the monitor and listen to music only.
