- Not the best Keith Sweet.

I was really excited when I saw this album was out. I purchased it immediately. I was anticipating classic Keith Sweat with a modern swing. He will be in concert in my area soon and I wanted my CD in hand! However, I have not been impressed. I have not been able to listen to an entire song. His voice has changed dramatically and the producers just grabbed some beats off the back shelf and dusted them off.

This album has received strong reviews. But if you really want to know if the album is good, listen to the samples. They will help you decide. I wish I would have done this first. Since I can't get my money back, I am glad the CD was on sale.

One thing is for sure, Keith still looks great! I am still a fan, just not a fan of this particular album.

- Check this CD out

I'm very impressed with this CD. I usually download my music but I had to buy this CD. I've always been a big fan of Keith Sweat. Some people did't like him because they say he whines in his music. My stand on that is if you are a true Keith Sweat fan, none of that mattered. Whining has always been his style I mean come on, isn't that what made the women hot all over? His new "Just Me" CD is straight on with alot less whining for all the haters. The first time I put it in my car I was like wow! Keith is back in full affect with this new hit just like the oldschool jams he would woo the ladies with and put the fellas in the mood. Keith is back ladies and gentlemen! Big ups!

- He put some blood, SWEAT and tears into this album

The cover of "Just Me" contains a picture of Keith Sweat with a suit on, staring into the camera with a serious look on his face. This album cover gives listeners a clue as to what kind of tone the album has. This album has a very relaxed and mature tone to it. I have heard a great deal of Keith Sweat's music on the radio, but I never listened to any of his LPs. If his past work is as pleasing as "Just Me", I have no problem taking a listen to it. I enjoyed every song on this album. Sweat is known for "whining", but his whining on this album is very minimum. He is doing much more crooning than begging this time around.

Most of the tracks found here are ballads. There are a few mid-tempo cuts, but there is nothing really fast here. Further, the vast majority of this music is about women and all-out sex. While Sweat is usually remotely tasteful, he gets pretty raunchy sometimes. Personally, I don't mind that, but more conservative individuals will have a problem with the raunchiness. The album begins with a wonderful song called "Someone." I replayed this song over and over again! Sweat has a nice falsetto voice that I never knew about; he uses it through this entire song. The hook, lyrics and production are all creative. This song is the best on "Just Me." The second best moment is a song called "Butterscotch." This is another sexy ballad that will get you plenty of advances if you were to play it in the bedroom with your mate. The lyrics say "You're qualified, let's do what freaks do." Sweat gives us lots of energy on "Me and My Girl." This mid-tempo number has a nice beat and a catchy hook. In "Teach Me", Sweat tells a lady that he will teach her new sexual techniques and he hopes that she is a quick learner. Most of the beats on this album contain only a drumming and piano arrangement, but this formula truly works for him.

I highly recommend this album to those who enjoy mellow and relaxing R&B music. After taking a listen to this album, I respect Keith Sweat as a musician a lot more. A job well done. 4 shining stars!
