Review - Product Description
Cocker hit #11 with this 1974 LP, reaching #5 with his impassioned You Are So Beautiful and #46 with the rockin' Put Out the Light . Also on this gem: his versions of Jimmy Webb's The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress and It's a Sin When You Love Somebody ; Randy Newman's Guilty , and more!

- A Haunting Vocalist

This is Joe Cocker's best album. He brings a raw beauty to these songs of love and loss.

- Impassioned interpretations a specialty...

Get past the comparatively lightweight poppy first track...get into the impassioned title track, the classic Jimmy Webb songs "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress" and "It's A Sin", Allen Toussaint's "Performance" and Randy newman's "Guilty". All passionate soul-tearing performances.

Then there's that last cracked notes at the end of "You Are So Beautiful"...can you imagine that getting through on a song these days without being airbrushed and auto-tuned out? Roger Daltrey (The Who) once said something like he'd prefer to hit a note with emotion than a perfect note any day- this is a perfect example!

this is one of the best albums joe ever put together. his voice has so much depth and soul, he is in a class of his own. I really enjoy listening to joe's music, it is exiting and relaxing. too bad this album is not available on cd

- Good solid collection of Joe...........,

, but would have liked another of his hits or two. Still, a valuable addition to my collection and my iPod.

Great Cocker... I need not say more. Joe Cocker has been and always will be a great inspiration to anyone who listens to the heart and soul only Mr.Cocker can introduce. This music is a mellow part of Joe's life that we all can relate too. Enjoy!
