Análisis - Amazon.com
For a man who gets his biggest kicks surfing the waves and strumming his guitar on a lonely beach in native Hawaii, singer-songwriter Jack Johnson has carved out quite a remarkable career on the mainland. His 2003 album, On and On, debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and subsequently went platinum on the back of hit single "The Horizon Has Been Defeated." The follow-up, meanwhile, seems destined to shine even brighter. The drifting chords and soft voice are still in place, only now Johnson's instinct for melody has sharpened alongside his ability to self-edit. These small concessions make third album, In Between Dreams, his most conspicuous, particularly on tracks like the three-minute relationship drama, "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing," and "Breakdown," a song he originally recorded for Handsome Boy Modeling School's White People album remade here to reveal its full stripped-down loveliness. Imagine all the coconuts it will buy. -- Aidin Vaziri

- blown away...

it it was possible, i would have given this cd 6 stars... it's been on constant repeat in the background ever since i got this cd the day it came out (i pre-ordered it as soon as i heard word of a new jack johnson cd...gasp!)

i have liked jack for several years, ever since his debut album "brushfire fairytales." since then, he's also come out with "on and on," (making this his 3rd) and i honestly would never be able to choose my favorite. he's got a soothing, raspy voice and perfectly harmonizing guitar, and he has such a way with words: he doesn't just write about love (although his love songs will make your heart flutter!) but he also writes about worldly issues that get you thinking.

back to this new cd... wow. if you can't tell by now... i HIGHLY recommend it; it's one of those cds that's good the very first time you listen to it. highlights are "better together," (the tune is infectious and his voice is dreamy) "banana pancakes" (because it's such a cute concept and such a rainy summer day anthem) and "sitting waiting wishing" (which i got addicted to before the release of the cd; the video can be seen on his website, www.jackjohnsonmusic.com)

DEFINITELY buy it... you won't regret it

- Wow

First off, I'm into metal (thrash, experimental, math and death metal to be exact)... but for some reason when I heard Jack Johnson I fell in love with him. Every song is great. Definately recommend to buy no matter what type of music you like... very enjoyable and peaceful (a little change from the constant screaming and pounding drums in my case).

- It's art to me

I like this album more the more I listen. The lyrics and the music work together in the way that tells me they came from straight from the writer's right brain. I guess this is so, because I feel transported when I listen. You need both the lyrics and the music to be inspired to have a powerful work that can really move, and this album does that for me.

All the tracks are good. There is not a bad track on this album. I am happy to whole-heartedly support this artist.

- ahhhh jack....

Great CD. Maybe not as good as On & on & Brushfire, but definately pure Jack. I could listen to it over and over again... Great music for chillin' on the beach, or maybe just on your deck in suburbia ;) Oh well...we can't all life the surfer life...but his music can make you feel like you are!

- Awesome album.

The bottom line boys and girls, is that Jack Johnson is a flat out beast on an acoustic guitar. Every little thing he does on his axe seems perfected. I myself play guitar, and I can only hope to one day be as good as this dude. This album is by far his best. Not to say that "Brushfire Fairytales" and "On and On" aren't good, because they certainly are, but "In Between Dreams" is absolutely amazing.

Better Together-3/5- Not great, but okay. I just think the lyrics are sappy, but of course, the guitar part is good.

Never Know-5/5- My favorite on the whole album. The guitar sounds so amazing, it blows me away every single time. I cannot get tired of this song. Lyrics are awesome too.

Banana Pancakes-4/5- This song took me awhile to warm up to, but I like it a lot now. It's got a great guitar intro.

Good People-4/5- Really, really cool. I like the lyrics a lot.

No Other Way-3/5- It's not bad, I just don't like it as much. The guitar intro is fun stuff though.

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing-5/5- Great, great, GREAT song! Oh man, it gets stuck in my head a lot, but with this song it doesn't get annoying. Awesome song, easy to play on guitar too.

Staple it Together-2/5- I like the instrumentation a lot, but the lyrics aren't that great. Maybe I just don't understand it, but I'm just not a fan of this song.

Situations-4/5- I'd give it five points if it wasn't for the fact that it's only about a minute long...but nevertheless, it's a quality tune.

Crying Shame-2/5- No thanks.

If I Could-5/5- Oh man! So sad, but awesome. The guitar part is righteous.

Breakdown-4/5- I really like the instruments in it, and the lyrics are great too.

Belle-4/5- Stinking cool guitar part. It sounds like a song you'd hear in France...considering the lyrics are French. Great song.

Do You Remember-5/5- My second favorite, for some weird reason. I LOVE the guitar part, it's amazing.

Constellations-3/5- The guitar part is amazing. It doesn't sound real. The lyrics are just cheesy, but it's a good closer to the album.

It's an amazing album, well worth the cash you'll spend on it.

If you like Jack Johnson, you'll probably like John Mayer, Jason Mraz, the Dave Matthews Band, Gavin Degraw, and Maroon 5. Maybe not all of them, but he is really similar to John Mayer the most.

Enjoy! It's goooooooooooooooooood stuff.
