When I heard Howie Day was putting out a live ep, I was estatic! Finally, the general public not exposed to the raw sound of this amazing musician would get to hear the real Howie Day. Well...not really. Unfortunately, Howie Day decided to put out an EP with a full backing band. For those who know Howie Day before his last album (actually before Australia to some extent) knows that Howie Day is totally in his element alone, with his gutiar and petals. His looping of his gutiar and voice, making it sound like many voices and instuments, is nothing short of amazing! Why he continues to put out music so completely different than what made him the musician he is today will never cease to amaze me...Fortunately, he is such an incredibly talented musician that even a polished watered down Howie Day is better than most anything else in the genre! I just hope someday he will put out a live album featuring "Howie Day"...and no one else. Until then. This is sure to please the masses, Especially if you enjoyed "Stop the World Now".
I recommend everyone go and get this CD. I got it right when it came out and I think it is great and its probably my favorite Howie Day CD. I have heard a few other live songs from Howie Day and the live songs on this cd are probably the best of the best versions. This is a great CD to put into your CD player and listen to it over and over.
Fantastic cover of "Don't Dream It's Over" from Crowded House, and a fairly solid live album from there on in... Definitely a good one if you like Howie Day.
A great live set from an artist that puts an interesting stamp on the acoustic pop similar to that of Matt Nathanson, David Gray, Christian Floyd and Joshua Radin. Great CD!
