Hmmm...sometimes I wonder if Haste The Day are their own worst enemies. When Everything Falls has everything you'd want in a standard metalcore record...blistering riffs, throaty vocals, melodic singing, etc. but unfortunetly it falls short of being as enjoyable as their Solid State debut "Burning Bridges." The biggest problem here is the songwriting is just to predictable. Haste The Day have the ability to write a helluva catchy chorus, but when you throw them into every single track like they've done here, not only does it sound forced but it sort of loses it's ability to contrast with the heavier aspects of the songs because of the constant repitition, and even worse it makes it difficult to differentiate between the tracks. Ironically enough, perhaps the most enthralling listen on the entire album is the closing track "Long Way Down" which is entirely sung in clean vocals with scattered background screams, mostly because its just about the only track that really sounds different from everything else thats written and sounds very un-metalcore.

There's definetly talent here and I enjoy the album enough to say that When Everything Falls would fit nicely into anyones record collection who enjoys the majority of Solid State's catalog of releases, but don't expect to be blown away by this album as it doesn't tread any new ground. Highlight tracks include the "For A Lifetime," "Walk On," and "Long Way Down."

What is worse than a cookie-cutter metalcore band despretly trying to match the musical outcome of bigger bands and coming off as a cheep thrill? Well, there is Haste the Day. I liked their first release, but this one just sucks. Their first one was more creative and less predicable while this one is the opposite. All the songs are the same structure and the lyrics just suck. The only thing I like about this Cd is The vocals remind me of Daniel Wydatt's (Zao).

I'll be honest, after seeing the title and art of the new CD, I just had this sneaking suspicion that this album would be the first of a change for one of my favorite hardcore groups, but was I ever wrong; and THANK GOD! It's great to see one group sticking with what's working for them. The breakdowns are amazing, the singing is solid as ever (which is a rare thing amidst hardcore bands), and the lyrics are uplifting as ever!!! Yet another amazing release from Haste The Day!!! If only they'd given us more music to last until their next release (37min. with one of the songs being an amazing Goo Goo Dolls cover), but I'm not complaining :) The album's been in my rotation for the last 2 weeks non-stop, and it's going to have a hard time finding its' way out for a while.

This is their best album! This album is more technical than the others. The sound is much better, and you get 12 full energy tracks. If you listen to one track, you will maybe not like the album. But you have to listen throughout the album a couple of times before you can tell. This is actually my favourite album at the moment....

Haste the Day's Burning Bridges was such an awesome CD. It blew me away at the time. Then I heard that they were releasing When everything Falls, I thought to myself "How could they do any better than Burning bridges?" I don't know, but they sure did do it. This CD is 10 times their other CD was. I would check this out if i was you.
