- Hank Jr's Greatest Hits - 1969

This is a very good early Hank Williams Jr album. Produced by Jim Vienneau, the original album was released in December 1969, and reached #7 on the Billboard country album chart in 1970.

All Songs, except one, were written or co-written by Hank Jr. Five of the eleven songs are from his 1969 #1 album, SONGS MY FATHER LEFT ME*. The full title is "Songs My Father Left Me; The Poetry of Hank Williams, set to music and sung by Hank Williams, Jr."

1. It's All Over But the Crying - 2:34 reached #3 on U.S. country chart in 1968

from the movie soundtrack A TIME TO SING

2. Cajun Baby* - 2:38 reached #3 in 1968,

3. Standing in the Shadows - 3:07 reached #5 in 1966, from his album COUNTRY SHADOWS

4. Homesick* - 2:24

5. Where Do I Go From Here* - 2:21

6. Try Try Again - 2:22 the B side of the 1969 single(track 7)

7. I'd Rather Be Gone - 2:42 co-written with Merle Haggard, reached #4

8. A Baby Again - 2:49 written by Billy Ed Wheeler. reached #16,

9. Are You Lonely Too* - 2:33

10. Rock In My Shoe - 2:08 another song from the 1968

movie A TIME TO SING starring Hank Williams Jr.

11. My Heart Won't Let Me Go* - 2:15

I enjoyed this album very much. A couple of songs have strings, and some have a background vocal group, but the recordings are not overproduced like some of Hanks early recordings. This is some good country music.
