Yes, this song is another cover. But this time, Girls Aloud do it better then the original. Dee C Lee originally released "See The Day" in 1985, but GA outdo her with their version of this utterly gorgeous ballad.
The CD ain't half bad either, with 4 different tracks and the video (being the CD2).
Rundown:
01. See The Day
Girls Aloud's 11th top 10 single, this is also their lowest charting single, reaching #9 on Christmas week 2005. But it's undeserved, as this is one of my favourite GA songs. This is so beautiful. With big sweeping instrumentals and huge vocals from the girls, it is just an epic ballad. Nadine takes the reins and delivers a professional vocal - she is backed up by Nicola, Sarah and Cheryl (Kimberley doesn't have a vocal on this song) and a massive chorus. Absolutely stunning track. (5/5)
02. I Don't Really Hate You
Ah, another fantastic GA b-side! This song took ages to grow on me, but it has now grown majorly. A midtempo little track, the lead vocals are taken by Kimberley, who sings both bridges. But all the girls have a vocal part. The chorus is really catchy. Overall, this is cute chilled out little track. Great. (5/5)
03. See The Day [Soundhouse Master Blaster Mix]
I love this remix. Even though I adore the original, I also love this speeded up version. The vocals are all twisted and warped, but it works very well. The music is addictive also. A great remix, one of GA's best. (5/5)
04. Chemistry Album Medley [Models/Watch Me Go/Whole Lotta History]
As this single was released at the same time as the Chemistry album, they put this medley on here to give you a taster. "Whole Lotta History" ended up being the followup to "See The Day" is a gorgeous ballad. "Models" and "Watch Me Go" are both funky upbeat tracks, with WMG being the better of the two. It's not overly long for a medley, only 3:10. Pretty good, but not needed if you have Chemistry. (4/5)
The single also has the video - it's absolutely beautiful. The girls are on a starry backdrop with snow (which is actually salt) wearing gorgeous dresses. They all look stunning, and the video is a bit cheap but the girls look so good, it doesn't matter.
Overall, a great value single and a great song. 5 stars.
