When George Michael does a ballad, he really knows how to make a song his own. That was definitely the case with his latest ballad, a duet with Muyta on This Is Not Real Love. The song is one of the three new tracks from George's Twenty Five Greatest Hits album. the song has a very hypnotic beat and delivers simplisticly from the heart. When I first heard this song, I was really blown away. I think this is one of George's best duets since his collaboration with Elton John on Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me back in 1991. I can't wait to hear more duets like this one that really do work well, and not sound cheap.
Song: B+
WELL all I can say is George Michael has done it again!!
This song is BRILLIANT!!! The performance is BRILLIANT!!! The production is BRILLIANT!!! The duet is BRILLIANT!!! Radio needs more of this type of high quality material...especially HERE!!!
I originally bought this single back in November, 2007. I couldn't wait to break the seal on the CD. I play this single quite a bit. I liked it the first time I heard the sample. At full length, though, is when I got a chance to really appreciate it. I agree with the first reviewer, when George does a duo, he does it right. This song is absolutely beautiful. Very sad. George tells his lover he's "going to have to leave her." Why, isn't clear, but doesn't really matter. It's hard on him, "Baby you know that my flesh is weak, you know that I can't hardly sleep without you." "My heart it seems has nowhere to go.". His lover could tell something was different, she wanted to keep up appearances. What are we going to tell everyone? He can't stay. She wants one more night...... buy it.
