- Mixture of Old & New

Nice mixture of old and new. 'Furniture' has been a part of Fugazi's live set for some time--it's good to finally have an "official" version. 'Number 5' and 'Hello Morning' are fairly aggressive tracks, reminiscent of the sound of REPEATER. An interesting contrast to the sparser sound of THE ARGUMENT.

Overall, worth picking up, especially if you like the sound of older Fugazi.

- Good for collectors and the devoted

This 3 song EP does harken back to Dischord's vinyl days, and I suspect that's why Fugazi released it in EP form. The main track is a very old (yet very good) song with all the old-style Fugazi punch and vinegar. It's only previously been available in bootleg form (not counting the Instrument film), and now, in keeping with Fugazi's trademark courtesy toward their fans, is available in legit and properly record edition. The other two tracks are nice and typically Fugazi, but not as strong as the main track. "Furniture" alone, however, makes this worth the modest price (compared to other CD singles and EP, that typically run [$$]or more for the some amount of music), but it should be noted that like much of Dischord's back catalog of various EPs, it's hardly essential.

- fantastic.

everyone's been waiting for the new fugazi full length, The Argument, for about five years now, but longtime fans have been waiting for official release of the song Furniture since they started playing it in 1987.

these three songs were originally going to be included on The Argument, but the band decided the album would sound better if they were cut and put on a (very affordable) EP instead. the title track, which is featured prominently at the beginning of Instrument, is a mid-tempo reggae influenced tune somewhat reminiscent of Waiting Room, and every bit as good without being redundant. Number 5 is a breakneck speed instrumental that reminds me a bit of arpeggiator, and wrapping it all up is Hello Morning, a fast-paced mess of ragged hardcore featuring Guy on vocals.

All in all this is a great value, a good accompanyment to The Argument, and worth having on its own.

- Three Wonderful Repeater-esque tunes aged to perfection

For only $4 dollars (Buy From Dischord), the Furniture single is an excellent addition to any music collection. Only 8 minutes and 53 seconds in length, it is by no means very long but the three songs it contains are amazingly satisfying. You'll find yourself putting the disc on continuous play over and over. "Funiture" is an excellent track which would be right at home on Repeater+3 Songs. "Number 5" just goes to show that Fugazi are masters of instrumentals. "Hello Morning" attacks the listener with Guy's vocals. Not to give anything away but I gurantee you it will not only be a great deal but also the coolest looking cd anybody could own. Take note however, the disc would not play in my friends Panasonic car deck, but worked fine on my Aiwa home stereo, be cautious, but dont let that keep you from purchasing this amazing single. Fugazi does it again!

- Don't buy on Amazon - support your local store or Dischord.

I didn't want to own everything fugazi had produced, but now I do. Sadly there is very little music of this quality being produced these days. I'm just glad I saw them live too.
