Back in the day, before the Top 40 audience had ever heard of Faith Hill, those in the country circle knew of this talented lady. Faith's first album had enough twang to make her country and enough pop to make her attractive to the young crowd. Faith's voice shines on such songs as "Wild One" and "Piece of My Heart," but it's on the ballads like "Just Around the Eyes" where she make syou feel the pain and heartache.
This Faith album is pre-Shania. It's so good, that she should really be hit for going pop and mainstream. Shame on you faith. But, until she comes to her senses, I'll ignore her mainstream stuff and stick to the twangy Faith I like in 1993.
This is a wonderful cd the sounds are fresh, and has toprics people can relate to.
Every song on this cd is wonderful! On every song she shows great vocal ability. You won't be sorry if you buy this cd. The 2 best songs are, "Wild One" and "Piece of My Heart". For die hard country fans:a MUST buy!
1993 was the year Faith Hill released this album, her debut album titled Take Me As I Am. When Wild One was released it flew to the top of the charts, and Faith Hill became the hottest thing around. This is my least favorite Faith Hill album, I think her other albums have more substance and good material, but not to say this is all bad. The hit singles are great, and the album was marketed wisely. Nearly all the songs released became hits. After Wild One came other hits such as Take Me As I Am, Piece of My Heart, and But I Will. The highlight of the album is her take on the Janis Joplin hit Piece of My Heart, and I Would Be Stonger Than That is another honorable mention. This is a nice intro into Faith's music, but I would suggest It Matters To Me, excellent album.
This is Faith Hill before she went 'cross-over'. It's from 1993 and I think it was her first album. The songs are great and her cover of 'Piece of my Heart' is wonderful. If you want to hear what Faith sounded like before she went pop, then get this album. Recommended!
