There was no denying the power of Elton John's music thrught nearly 30+ years in the industry. Yet, he was never able to accomplish making something happen on Broadway. When he started composing the music for Aida with Tim Rice, who also worked with Elton composing the Oscar-winning music for The Lion King, they had no idea of how dynamic it was. With Written In The Stars, his duet with Leann Rimes, it really gained the upcoming Broadway show and exposure. Still, I thought that it was the only song from Aida worth listening to, the various artists compilation Elton John appeared in, not the Broadway cast album. Still, Aida is a very big hit now, thanks to Elton. Hopefully, he'll do another song like this one.
"Written In The Stars", by Elton John and Leann Rimes is a wonderful moving piece. I'm going in 8th grade, and last year, for Bi-County, this piece was chosen for us to sing. I knew of the song then, beacuse i'm involved in theatre, but i didn't know the whole song clearly, with all of the words known. So I was excited about getting to sing this song in Bi-County. It was a great song. It seemed as if the whole Bi-County chorus loved it! I would love to see/hear another duet sung by Elton and Leann. That would be great.
A wonderful collaboration of two fine singers. Great CD to listen to!!!! Leann is something else!
A very sweet song, but I think the choir was a distasteful addition - it interrupts the flow. The song was written by Elton John.
LeAnn Rimes has such a great voice, and she is very talented! You've gotta buy this CD, its definetly worth!! It includes two versions of "Written in the Stars" plus some snappings of the rest of the songs in the AIDA album (2 mins long) Total: 3 tracks
