The grassroots movement surrounding the Darkness had begun to seriously snowball by the time of their second release, Get Your Hands Off My Woman, which boasted two version of the hysterically offensive title track, one cleaned up for radio, the other brazenly screaming out that fearsome C word! Tellingly, no amount of profanity, shrill falsettos, or Freddie Mercury-approved unitards (err, see the cover image) seemed capable of derailing the Darkness' juggernaut, as the song quickly climbed to number 36 on the U.K. charts. Also featured was "Best of Me," a longtime concert favorite boasting a dependably memorable chorus and twin guitar harmonies drawn straight out of the Thin Lizzy textbook. The fact that the latter never made it onto the Darkness' chart-topping debut album, Permission to Land, only contributed to this disc's subsequent popularity among collectors. ~ Ed Rivadavia, All Music Guide
