Perhaps many people today know Doris Day the vocalist only from her movies, but Doris Day the teen-ager became a popular vocalist with Les Brown's band in the 1940s. It was a great band, and she became a great singer. Although this collection doesn't include her biggest hit (isn't it always that way?) of that period, "Sentimental Journey," this collection of 16 songs is so good that most listeners probably won't be disappointed. The sound quality is good.
