Review - Product Description
Dionne's first Top 20-charting album! In fact, this baby went all the way to #1 on the R&B charts, thanks in part to a trio of Bacharach-David masterpieces, 'Trains and Boats and Planes'; 'Alfie', and 'I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself'. The complete 1966 release

- "The trains and the boats and planes... took you away... away from me"

Released by SCEPTER Records on 12/6/66, Dionne Warwick's seventh LP for them, HERE WHERE THERE IS LOVE (SRM-555), was the first to break into Billboard's Top 20, peaking at #18 on the pop charts. Three tracks from this set were top-selling singles, including one that became Warwick's theme song: "Alfie" (#15), originally the 'B' side of "The Beginning of Loneliness" 45. "Trains and Boats and Planes" reached #22 on the Pop charts while "I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself" climbed to #26.

"What The World Needs Now Is Love" was originally offered to Dionne in 1965 but she turned it down. After Jackie DeShannon's success with the tune, Miss Warwick decided to cover it for this album. Her version is the equal of Jackie's.

As LPs go, this one's pretty good. Its only failing is in programming. Once you get past "Alfie" the rest is filler, with that final cut the worst by far.

- An amazing artist

I just love Dionne Warwick. I have heard so many love songs in my life time and I am in my late forties, yet I must say that this album (I Wish You Love) is my favorite love songs of all time. Any Dionne Warwick fans - get this CD, you will not be disappointed.
