- One of Mode's best singles

Apart from being the stand out track from 1997's album ULTRA, It's No Good is also easily the best Mode single since Enjoy The Silence. This single is a return to their melodic past which could have come from the Violator period. A haunting song of lost love and obsession. Sometimes, remixes can be a hit or miss affair but Depeche never fail to deliver the goods. The group have always been selective about allowing remixer's to touch their songs and a classic track deserves a good remix. Thankfully there are two superb remixes on this cd single. The Bass Bounce remix highlights the haunting nature of this track with it's trance effects adding much to the original melody, repeating the verse "it is written in the stars above" to a catchy rift. It is one of my all-time favourite Mode mixes. The Hardfloor Mix incorporates a grinding drum and bass feel with some new melody arrangements which hint at the remixer's passion for the original track. This mix became a big hit in the clubs of London, and it's an essential purchase.

- really good...but go with "walking in my shoes"

There I was sittin' and watching MTV when Depeche Mode's "it's no good" video was played and I found it very interesting. The guy decked out in a green suit with the chicks dancing around him. almost like and Elvis persona with the hair and the lounge. But anyways, that's the song that started it all off. I now have most DM albums and everywhere single from Ultra and Songs of Faith and Devotion. Even though "in your room" will remain my favourite DM song. "it's no good" isn't no good...it's GREAT. almost optimism by the dark-boys themselves. it's helped me through relationships and those days you're down. I only gave it 4 stars because I think they could've done better with the remixes. The Speedy J one is very out there, but the rest sound the same. This was the one case where I actually liked the original against the remixes. Shall I advise you to buy "it's only when i lose myself"(the newest from DM) and "walking in my shoes" with one of the coolest mixes ever..."the random carpet mix" and "anadamidic mix", and don't miss out on the b-side "my joy"....

- "It's no Good" rises above all the dance tunes

Depeche Mode's song "It's no Good" must be one of their most "optimistic" songs.Just take the first line"I'm gonna take my time,I've got all the time in the world." This is a great representer for the "ultra" album and for Depeche Mode as a band.David Gahan's voice is more soothing thatn ever and it's got a great dancing beat.I especially enjoy the "hardfloor mix" or "bass bounce mix" which the title says it.You get the bass for those great late night cruises in your car to wake up all those annoying neighbors.I totally recommend this single for any Depeche MODE fan............
