- "Personal Jesus:" the single that made me a Depeche Mode fan

One of the best songs in "alternative" history. Period. I first caught wind of it as a video on MTV in spring 1990. That distinctive musical hook reeled me right in. I had been aware of DM as a synth band for a few years before that and never disliked anything they did (though I'm still not overtly fond of the early work with Vince Clarke, frankly), but this bowled me right over, and I've listened to DM faithfully on radio, etc. ever since. However, not until my recent acquisition of a CD player have I rediscovered Depeche Mode, and the first DM CD that I bought was this Maxi-Single. This group is definitely a "singles" band. Their albums are very good, but the infinitely creative ways they remix their singles is truly impressive and cutting edge, anticipating the current "electronica" movement by a full decade. Each maxi-single is a mini-album of merit itself. The most impressive track on this single has to be the Acoustic Mix of Personal Jesus, showing that the band is much, much more than a synthetic one. And the B-side, Dangerous, deserved to be on the Violator album perhaps even more than other tracks actually on the album. Almost 10 years after it's initial release in late 1989, Personal Jesus (and its great remixes) is as classic as ever!

- "Dangerous" is the cut you'll listen to over and over

Back in the day I bought this single CD after hearing on several occasions the "new tune" from DM I kept hearing in the Club. To my surprise I wasn't finding it off any new release. But it was a B side tune with Personal Jesus on a single CD? I guess DM didn't feel it was worthy enough. It's kinda euro house club sounding, puts you in a trance feel, I can tell you that the cut "Dangerous" will grab you as one of the best you'll hear from DM, I skip over Personal Jesus everytime.

- classic master song

Possibly the best single : the remixes , the accoustic version , the B-side : Dangerous. Nowadays you can listen to it and the time has not passed by. It's perfect. The video clip is worse than the song in fact.

- Dangerous .....

Dangerous to me is Depeche Mode's best song. This is my absolute favorite song from them in any version. It's just extermely sexy. Besides "Stripped" one of DM's best. This is a great single.

- In top 10 of all times

I bought this many years ago and it has survived the test of time. The acoustic "Personal "Jesus" is in my top 10 of all time and is a standard I use for buying new audio equipment. This CD is a must have ... period.
