Análisis
The Very Best of Dean Martin: The Capitol & Reprise Years does what many Dean Martin compilations aren't able to do: select tracks from his entire career, spanning the Capitol era peaks of "Memories Are Made of This" and "Everybody Loves Somebody," as well as late Reprise hits "Houston" and "Somewhere There's a Someone." Although the songs are scattered with no regard to chronology, the compilers made some good transitions and every selection is united by Martin's smooth, mellifluous croon that makes a pair of entries like "Memories Are Made of This" and "Little Ole Wine Drinker, Me" smooth and of a piece despite being separated by 13 years (and the gulf between 1955 and 1968 was a large one). Still, a few more obscure hits would've helped this collection out tremendously; how about his 1969 hit on Merle Haggard's "I Take a Lot of Pride in What I Am" or the novelty "Not Enough Indians"? ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
