Review - Product Description
The legendary progenitor of "cool jazz" in a historic live performance! The cool tones of one of jazz's iconoclastic figures ring out vibrantly on this set of deeply felt performances by Chet Baker, filmed at a Tokyo concert in 1985, three years before his tragic death. Crooning some of his signature tunes including "My Funny Valentine" and "Stella By Starlight," he delivers a fragile and memorable program.

Features Chet Baker on trumpet and vocals, Harold Danko on piano, Hein van de Geyn on bass, and John Engels on drums.

- CHET BAKER IN TOKYO BUT NOT 1985

THIS IS NOT A 1985 CONCERT BUT THE JUNE 14 1987 CONCERT.IT LISTS 8 SONGS BUT THERE ARE 9 SONGS.THE 9TH IS 7 STEPS TO HEAVEN.THIS IS NOT THE COMPLETE CONCERT THAT WAS ON THE CD.THERE ARE 2 SONGS THAT ARE NOT ON THE CD,YOU`D BE SO NICE TO COME HOME TO & BEATRICE.THIS IS CHET AT HIS BEST.I SAW CHET MANY TIMES IN AND AROUND DETROIT,FROM THE ROUGE LOUNGE TO BAKER`S KEYBOARD, AND THIS IS WHAT HE SOUNDED LIKE AT HIS BEST.THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER ON VIDEO THAN CD.A MUST HAVE FOR ALL CHET BAKER FANS.FIVE BIG STARS.WALLYMC

Trumpet,Bass,Piano and Drums.Sound good....video poor by todays standards.Easy to listen to!Chet Baker and his group deliver a cool sound and is worth the price to see and hear this flawless trumpet player. His backing group are superb as well.

- Last performance before he died.

The tape was recorded by the Japanese TV. Quality is not very good, but for lovers of Chet Baker this concert is very good and special because it was his last concert before he died in Amsterdam, with very good Dutch bas and drums players.

The CD was absoluteky worthless since I could not get it to play. I feel I was ripped off big time. I will think twice before ordering from you again.
