- Cher: The Millennium Collection-The Best Of Cher 2 (2004)

In 2000, Cher had given us three albums. One of them was entitled, 20TH CENTURY MASTERS: THE MILLENNIUM COLLECTION-THE BEST OF CHER. Well, in 2004, Cher had released that album's follow-up entitled, 20TH CENTURY MASTERS: THE MILLENNIUM COLLECTION-THE BEST OF CHER VOLUME TWO. This album features all of Cher's greatest hits from the 80s and 90s. This is an album that I really enjoy because of Cher's even more popular hits.

BELIEVE

From the album BELIEVE (1998). Seven years later and this song still steals my heart. This song is just a classic Cher tune. The music is just purely outstanding. As for Cher's vocals, she couldn't have sang it any better. This song is just incredible.

ALL OR NOTHING

From the album BELIEVE (1998). Just another amazing song.

ONE BY ONE (Junior Vasquez Vocal Edit)

Original version from the album IT'S A MAN'S WORLD (1996). As much as a fun remix this turned out to be, I still prefer the U.S. edition version and the U.K. edition version of this song.

LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING

From the album LOVE HURTS (1991). Not quite what I had expected it to be, but still a rockin' song.

SAVE UP ALL YOUR TEARS

From the album LOVE HURTS (1991). This song is much better than "Love And Understanding". I could listen to this song all day if I had to.

HEART OF STONE (Remix)

Original version from the album HEART OF STONE (1989). Remix from the album IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME-CHER'S GREATEST HITS (1999). The original version, which appeared on Cher's 1989 album Heart Of Stone, was incredible to begin with, but this remix, which was previously included on Cher's album, If I Could Turn Back Time-Cher's Greatest hits, is just beyond amazing.

AFTER ALL (duet with Peter Cetera)

From the original motion picture CHANCES ARE (1989). From the album HEART OF STONE (1989). This is such a great song and both, Peter's voice and Cher's voice are just outstanding on the song.

THE SHOOP SHOOP SONG (IT'S IN HIS KISS)

From the original motion picture & motion picture soundtrack MERMAIDS (1990). While the original wasted no time sucking, Cher's version wasted no time being the more definitive popular version. She certainly has a way of making older songs her own.

IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME

From the album HEART OF STONE (1989). Everyone must remember this song, since its accompanying video stirred up a lot controversy. This song is just amazing and I cannot help myself when I sing along with Cher on this one.

I FOUND SOMEONE

From the album CHER (1987). While Laura Branigan failed to seek success with this song in 1986, Cher wasted no time in 1987 when she covered this song and scored herself another hit single. Great song.

JUST LIKE JESSE JAMES

From the album HEART OF STONE (1989). Cher wanted to experiment more on a Country-Western type song. Cher had already done so on her 1982 album, I Paralyze, with the song, "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind". But Cher wasn't about to stop just there; she experiemnted the same sound on this awesome tune.

WE ALL SLEEP ALONE

From the album CHER (1987). Great song.

There is not one song on this album that is a total failure. This album is a definite winner and it is a must-have Cher album. So, I'm gonna tell you all one time and one time only: Buy this album right now or you'll regret for the rest of your lives.

- There's Only One Reason to Buy This...

...if you own all the hits here. It is the Remix version of "Heart of Stone", which cannot be purchased elsewhere.

- Decent Collection For Good Price

This volume covers Cher's 80's and 90's hits well. Tracks include "Believe", "All Or Nothing", "We All Sleep Alone", "Jesse James", etc. It contains a lot of her later top 40 hits and her best music, in my opinion. Still, if you have the extra money, go for "The Very Best of Cher." It's a pretty complete collection.

- + 1/2 star: a single CD compilation that goes well with volume one

Cher performs brilliantly on this album; true, it's not the longest or the biggest compilation out there but together with the first volume of this album you get a lot of Cher's biggest hits. It also makes a good single CD compilation of Cher's music especially from the late 1980s and 1990s. There's not a dud in the bunch here; this music is all THAT good. In addition, the sound quality is excellent.

"Believe" still sounds great today--Cher handles this very well and that beat makes me want to get up and dance practically anywhere I am! It's a strong way to open the track set. "All or Nothing" features Cher squarely front and center which is right where she belongs! The music that accompanies Cher as sings gives the number extra energy; I love it! "One by One" also has Cher singing at her very best; she never lets go of a superfluous note. "Love and Understanding" and "Save Up All Your Tears" are two of my favorites on this album; both songs are very poignant and Cher delivers them with panache. I also like "Heart of Stone;" this is a really awesome song.

"After All (Love Theme from Chances Are)" is a beautiful duet Cher does with Peter Cetera; it's very memorable. The musical arrangement is lush, too. "The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss)" is another favorite of mine; Cher took this one and made it her own by ejecting so much passion and yet some playfulness that really makes this one shine! Like so many other songs by Cher, "If I Could Turn Back Time" got lots of airplay when it was originally released; this is another of her biggest hits and just one listen will tell you why! "I Found Someone" is powerful and moving, to say the least; and the CD ends with Cher faultlessly performing "Just Like Jesse James" and the incredible "We All Sleep Alone."

Cher has shared so much of her gift with us; hopefully she will continue to make contributions to the arts for many years to come! I highly recommend the excellent music of Cher.
