Review - Amazon.com
Celine Dion's second English-language album made her a star all over the world, not just in France and her native Quebec. The tag-team production work is sometimes heavy-handed, swathing Dion in background choruses and gauzy keyboard washes, but her voice soars above it all, showing off her incomparable range and power. The public certainly responded to Dion's talent, landing her four singles from the album--"If You Asked Me To," "Nothing Broken But My Heart," "Love Can Move Mountains," and "Beauty and the Beast" (a duet with Peabo Bryson and the theme to the hit animated movie)--in the Top 40. --Daniel Durchholz

- Wonderful Album

Celine's second English album is a treat for the ears. The self titled album features 13 great songs, and she sounds wonderful. Some of my favorite Celine Dion songs are on here, such as the wonderful ballad "Nothing Broken But My Heart", the tragic and sad Prince song "With This Tear", to name a few. The big hits of the album were "Love Can Move Mountains", an uptempo inspirational number, "If You Asked Me To", a wonderful ballad (although I also enjoy Patti Labelle's version of this song), the duet with Peabo Bryson on "Beauty and the Beast". "Water From The Moon" was a single but not a well known hit, it's a nice ballad that should have performed better than it did. Kenny G contributes on "Halfway To Heaven", which is a nice song. The album features 5 songs written by Diane Warren, and they are all nice. All in all, this is a solid album, every Celine fan must own. Highlights include: "Water From The Moon", "With This Tear", "Nothing Broken But My Heart", "If You Asked Me To", "Beauty and The Beast", "Love Can Move Mountains" and "Show Some Emotion". A treat.

- It All Began With This Album!

When I first heard, 'If You'd Ask Me To', I didn't like it, but I loved 'Water From the Moon' and 'Nothing's Broken But My Heart'. Yet no Celine Dion song tops 'With This Tear' which was written by The Artist (aka Prince). 'With This Tear' is a real tear jerker especially when you hear the emotion she has when she sings it and when you read the beautiful, poetic lyrics. I think The Artist did an excellent job writing that song, and he wrote it for the perfect singer! Celine's got the voice and she's got the perfect music style for that golden voice of hers.

- Possibly her best album

I love this cd. I think that this and her first English album were/are her best. The songs on here are beautiful and her voice is outstanding. I know many people think this is sappy mush but honestly, can't you appreciate her immense talent. She really is superb and if you can go and see her in Las Vegas before the run ends, then I highly recommend that too. The show blew me away. It's undescribable. This cd is great and should be part of all your collections.

- My Favorite

I love all her music but this is my favorite. My favorite 2 songs no one ever seems to mention "Water From The Moon" and "With This Tear".Thanks to Dianne Warren on one and Prince for the latter. It's a shame she never sings them in her concerts once in a while.

- Stop the nasty comments

For all of you that are providing bad reviews of this album here is a little note...y'all who are saying that "her most glorious days are over" and "Beauty and the Beast AGain!" please take note of the release date of this album...it is 1992. This album was released before most of her famous works were released; therefore making your comments unfair and not worthy of publication on this site. Please discontinue these nasty comments unless you have a sensible argument for your case. Thank You.
