As 'Best Of' albums go, this is definitely an excellent one to pick up especially if you don't already have all of Candlebox's previous material. But, I suppose that goes without saying. This is a solid career spanning collection but it's too bad that there wasn't a B-side, live track, remixed/alternate version or something unique to entice the true fans of the band to jump on board and pick this up in spite of already having most of the songs on this set - and for this, the collection gets 4 stars instead of 5. They did include the song "Glowing Soul" which is a solid up-beat track which was previously released on the soundtrack for The Waterboy.
For the casual fan however, this release has all of the essential Candlebox material and some of the lesser known yet still outstanding material from thier last album Happy Pills. The good news is that none of the songs on the album are radio edits or shortened versions which are so common on greatest hits collections. This is absolutely worth the price of admission!
I'm psyched to see that Candlebox is touring with the original lineup in support of this album! Their live show should not be missed!
Very good, Although it's missing one charting single -- the minor 1993 rock radio hit "Don'T You" , "The Best of Candlebox" is a very good overview of this awesome band's work. It has all their major hits -- "Change," "Cover Me," "Simple Lessons," "Understanding," "10,000 Horses," "It'S Alright," "Happy Pills," and, of course, "Far Behind," which is the one tune of theirs that is known to the average alt-rock fan -- along with a sampling of album tracks, mainly drawn from "Candlebox" and "Lucy", plus the relative rarity of "Glowing Soul," which was originally on the soundtrack to the Adam Sandler comedy "The Waterboy". There's not much in the way of packaging -- the flimsy booklet has no notes to speak of -- but for those who want to stroll down a flannel-paved memory lane, this comp does present the band in its best light. 5 stars *****
taking you back from the early days when ledgendary artist were king.
candle box with there bold and best hits from years ago.
this album rocks in style.
look for there new up coming cd,into the sun!
So glad I purchased this CD by Candlebox. It's now one of my favorites. Play it all the time. For me it shows some deep meaning within the songs.
Candlebox has been around a long time now and they do not disappoint. If you get the chance to see them live (I have seen them two consecutive summers) do it! They are even better on stage than they sound on the album. Don't forget about their incredible newer release that is maybe a year old. The newer album is just as good a listen as the greatest hits.
